The first 35 seconds is cinematic gold. Never felt such intensity and freedom and power in 35 seconds than right there. The visuals, the voice acting, the heartbeat turning to an instrumental beat. It was literally perfect. I canāt stop watching it.

It's nice how Gear 5 doesn't give Luffy an instant win or makes the fight too one sided. Kaido still is landing powerful punches and Luffy is still feeling every one of them

Donāt know about you guys. But the Heartbeat scene with the drumming and colors, was more than epic for me. It feels like an other anime. I felt that drums and Luffys heartbeat like it was mine.. simply from an other universe this scene

I love that the Gorousei said that Nika fight style makes everyone around laugh and this is basically what happens to everyone that's watching it. I literally couldn't stop smiling through the entire fight.

The masterpiece of this scene is both in the art style, roughly sketched to signify the transition between human and godhood and therefore awakening, and how it focuses on the mystical nature of the heart. The way Luffy says "Beat loudly, heartbeat!" shows such devotion is shivering. Truly a powerful shintoist, buddhist and shamanic representation in a shonen. This is deeply spiritual and makes Nika's transformation unique

The way both Luffy and Kaido smiled at the start... For them, this fight wasn't just about the fate of Wano, or about the One Piece. This battle was two warriors at their peak, looking to test their strength. Kaido wants to see if he's finally met his match, and Luffy wants to see if he can really take down an Emperor of the Sea.

Them giving this art style for Gear 5 Luffy not only as an homage for older generations but to show how the older generations art style can still hold up even today due to its hand drawn quality was a good choice.
