The more I see these modern cars that you test, the more I appreciate the older ones in the garage.

Harry Metcalfe - the only car-youtuber who inspects the vehicle with a magnet.

100% agree that the trend of dumping a screen in the middle of an otherwise traditional dashboard is the height of laziness / build to cost solution.
  • It's 300 kilos heavier so they can pat themselves on the back for trimming 200 kilos from the Black Edition and charge double the price.

Instead of a simple twist of a vent for fresh air, it's now several functions requiring a iPad screen .... Rubbish!

I loved my 2016 GTS. The spirit is still here with the drivetrain. It appears that everyone at MB got what they wanted here. Tech department with four screens, drivetrain department got their power plant, market research got their 911 competitor and back seats, finance got their profit margins, exterior designers got their wishes. The consumer gets an overweight expensive car that isn’t great at anything, but good at a lot of things. In 2027 people will be first in line to pay 45% off.
  • After a drive in my analogue R129 SL this afternoon and then seeing this interior I can only conclude that I’m a lucky man.

Analogue clocks with needles and proper buttons and switches are the new luxury. Screens are just a cheap solution.

Thank you harry . Very detail video

Car prices are outrageously high today. Inflation is a factor, but these cars can lose over £35,000+ in value within just 6 to 8 months, and that's not even considering the finance costs on top. Purchasing one doesn't require wealth, but it does require a questionable sense of financial judgment.

Drug dealers and footballers will love his new model.

Great preview as always Harry … love the farm ones as well . I look forward to the Aston Vantage preview as think I would go for that one as an all rounder
  • Loved the video. None of the options needed like another German brand! Love the car and great look. Well done M-B.👍

The touch screen must account for 150kg.

I understand them trying to compete against the 911 for the rear seats, but the overall long hood shape was what made the previous gen so attractive.

For some reason Harry sharing my AMG i mode preference has made my day
  • Looks a lovely car, that big screen in the centre of the dashboard puts you off
