  • Great review. I am enjoying the Redwood. I had to shim out the rear rotor by two millimeters. The frame mount just did not allow enough adjustment of the caliper. Oddly, I spoke with another who also purchased a Redwood and they had to shim it out as well. Hope they fix this, or at least include a shim in the future, just in case.

Great bike. Have initial flatbar redwood. Tires and seat/dropper change all ive done. Hlaf the week, my go to for when im not sure if rain or gloom. Use it for single track, road, and gravel. Perfect for any...no. but works welk for all. Never caught off guard by late shift txt invite to trail ride..ready to go.

I just picked up last years model from Poseidon for 550 with tax. It was part of their last chance section, with an additional 100 off using the lastchance code
  • Great video, I am gonna buy this bike as the price is super low. I like the changes you did. I did road biking for 12 years and stopped about two years ago I live in AZ and tons of dirt and gravel to ride in. Nver heard of tubeless tires on a bike. I will have to research in the future

I just picked up a Redwood drop on their New Years sale for $749. I should have it by the end of the week!! I actually found much of the X more appealing, with the carbon fork and less aggressive tires but the Redwood seemed more stout, and offered better components in the thru axles and two piston brakes. For the hundred more seems like the Redwood was a better buy. I may opt for a thinner, less aggressive tire as I will probably use it more on road, dirt road versus trails. The Polygon Path X4 was another I considered.

Awesome video! I have the exact bike on the way. Did the bottle cages come with the bike?
  • Thanks for the video. I am more interested in their customer service if you do have an issue with the frame. Thanks again
  • Great review! I just bought the same bike. The Deore 6000 crank, was that a double and you just removed the inner chairing? Can you give me more details so I know exactly what to buy. Thx, dude.
  • Thanks for making this review. It was very helpful. As someone who rides 50% on road, would you recommend any upgrades that could make this bike better for riding on the road?
  • @dylanfly
Cool review! I just got a Redwood. Quick question about your new wheels: why keep the 27.5? Why not switch to 29ers?
  • Sweet bikes I got the previous year, swap that heavy steel cassette out for the half aluminum one from microshift. That helps with the tear end weight quite a bit before buying new wheels.

Did you change the handlebars and/or tape? I found the stock bar tape to be very thin, especially on dirt roads/gravel.
  • Shipped a Redwood dropbar to the Caribbean to use during my vacation in Feb 2024.. The only problem, which I have never experienced before and which really bothers me is that when I tighten in and lockdown the front wheel, the wheel is not centered. I tried moving the caliper hoping to get some space to work with , even took off the caliper altogether, still when I lock down the wheel it defaults to one side. Should have stuck with the tried and true REI Co Op brand. The deal breaker for me was the $169.00 shipping whereas Poseidon shipped for free. Any input? Great video BTW
  • Dam , this review changed my mind about the bike , I have hunt wheels & wtb pure saddle for max comfort, flat bar version is 679 $ free shipping, my only question would be if a carbon fork would make a difference or not for rough gravel ? Was looking at the hudski but yours weighs in about the same , also what tires are you using for the hunts , great review, made a difference in possibly pulling the trigger
  • Have you jumped this or rode really rough stuff with gear? How is it holding up still? Thanks again
  • @sampecard
Hey, great video! I'm new to gravel biking and Im looking to upgrade my BB and crankset. Can you share a link to the Deore 6000 crank set you installed? The hollowtech one you linked is something different? Also, did you need any spacers with the new BB? Thank so much, really appreciate it.
  • how do you feel about the XL? i am also 6'1, and concerned that i bought the L
  • @TUONOv4
Great review. Good price but the upgrades blew the deal. A better equipped bike to start with would have been a better option.
