I can’t believe it’s already been 15 years. I thought I’d make this video to help new vegans and maybe people who are considering becoming vegan. How would a life like that be and how would it affect you, like your body and your everyday life? So let’s have a look how 15 years as a vegan has changed me.

how long have you been vegan? or are you a vegetarian, or an omnivore? let me know.
  • @janasisko
Vegan 9 years, vegetarian 2 years prior. All of us together have made a huge difference in the world. ❤

I'm also 15 years vegan + 10 years vegetarian prior to that. 1. The health benefits came from discovering various allergies and issues. 2. The being cheerful part came from learning how to deal with life, nothing to do with veganism. 3. Being non-aggressive... That's my entire life, I can certainly be angry at stuff though. 4. I have nothing to miss prior to being vegan, that stuff ain't for me in any way. Veganism affects everyone differently, and not allot of people actually stick to it, only those that it fits them. I actually hardly ever talk to other vegans, I got very little in common with them. I'm a wacko animator, I have very little in common with most people xD

this was so great! I identified with everything you said. The difference is that I just turned Vegan at age 72. 5 months ago. I really bought into the protein myth prior to this. I have never felt better. My health problems are disappearing. I feel stronger. And yes more spiritually and morally aligned with who I really am. This is the first video of yours I have watched. I loved seeing the food you had laid out.

Congratulations for being vegan for 15,5 years! It's so nice, seeing a youtuber that stayed vegan and is actually concerned about animal rights. I am vegan since 11 years too. 😘
  • I’ve been vegan for 9 years, and the only negative I have is to do with going home, but not because I miss eating the food. Because it hurts to see the people I love still participating in cruelty. I can’t get my head around it :(

I've been Vegetarian for 11 years, now vegan for 4. The only thing I miss about being not vegan is the convenience. I live in rural Germany, so there are no cool vegan restaurants around - I'm lucky if the salad doesn't come with bacon cubes. I miss being able to just go in the bakery and pick up a pastry. But I never actually miss meat or dairy.

I so loved your cooking and food videos back when you did them! I miss them and was sad when you took them down off of your platforms. I vote for bringing them all back!!!!!

We'd love to see a video of your vegan recipes. Question though... have you ever used Next Level Diet? I got a custom high-protein meal plan from them and it's really working for me.

I went vegan as a freshman in high school in 2015. The end of March was my 8th year vegan anniversary! I was 14 back then and I'll be 23 next month so my family has realized that it's definitely not a phase. 😂
  • @anitavirginillo
It's been about 15+ years for me as well and still consider it the best thing I've ever done. Thanks for a great video :)
  • @jeanriggs5044
I’ve been vegetarian/vegan for 30 years. During that time tried raw and vegan keto but always go back to the staples which you mentioned. The congee you make is similar to the khichari I make. Looking forward to reading your book!
  • Hello from Brazil! I have been vegan for almost 4 years. I feel the same as you, I've never missed meat or cheese, I feel more connected with my body and have more energy. I'm not as aggressive as I used to be, PMS is over and I feel like I am a less cynical person.
  • @beitheleaf8221
Would love some recipe/food vids from you Jenny! Been vegetarian now for 6-7years and could use some inspo and tips to make healthy, budget friendly food ❤ thank you again
  • love it! "15 years in and still waiting for the protein deficiency!" you said it girl!

I was pescaterian since the age of 11 and gradually became vegetarian. Nowadays my diet is approx. 70% vegan. Whenever I have a cheese and dairy period, which is usually around the big holidays, I get all bloated, soggy and tired and my skin breaks out. So I quickly go back to my colorful vegan meals that are so energizing and full of flavor. When I eat mostly plan based my body is flexible, light, full of energy and my skin is clear and bright. Oh and I sleep better.
  • I was vegetarian for 5 years and vegan now for the last 10. Going plant based had a positive impact on my health.
