  • Fifteen years ago I got some sort of . . .bacterial or viral issue. . .it affected my gut and my vagus nerve (I had no idea such a thing existed at the time) that wound up from my stomach to my collar bone and into my cranial nerves. It was horribly painful. Then it got into my lymphatic system, another thing I had never thought about, because we don't here in America, and I developed huge knots behind my knees, inside my elbows, around two spots on the sides of my ankles, of course the groin and neck and behind the ears. I suffered. I was very very sick. I lost twenty pounds. I had migraines -- I think from the crainial nerve irritation all the time, then I couldn't swallow I think because my gut didn't want the irritation. Long story short -- these people know what they are talking about and keeping the vagus nerve and the lymphatic system healthy is a god send. you don't have to wait until you end up like I did. This information is life changing. And doctors have no interest in it because there is no billing item number on their billing chart not to mention they do not recommend self-care for insurance reasons. Hope my story helps someone else -- do what Dr. Perry says:thanksdoc:
  • What an incredible Dr.! In 15 minutes he explained the vagus nerve, provided free, easy & effective massage protocol and addressed breathing while at it. Talking about being succinct & effective while I spent hours elsewhere and didn’t get a fraction of his information. Thank you Dr. Nickelston for being so helpful!

I feel like I just hit the jackpot with this doctor. He’s like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. This Information should not be hard for any doctor to know and deliver. I’ve spent five decades, searching and not one doctor has come close to any of this information. Never before has anything felt so accurate and on the money. Please bless this doctor with a happy, healthy, good long life - thank you Doc.
  • I LOVE this Doctor. He has COMMON SENSE ‼️ - Calm the body. - Move the fluids. - Then you’ll HEAL. THANKYOU !!
  • @lucybecker8
He's a born teacher. Thank you so much for featuring him. The info is so healing. I've been doing the massages he suggests as he is talking and I feel calmer and more well than I have in ages.
  • @MrEasiertolie
You should do an episode on POTS. So many people are struggling from so many symptoms of POTS. From irregular heart rates, to digestive issues, circulatory issues. So many people developed it after getting Covid and have no where to turn bc it completely ruined their lives.
  • @lindamon5101
Where has this Man been all my life? Thankyou Sir!
  • @Bachconcertos
Playfully movement - Tai chi, dance, gentle swimming, social engagement, makes so much sense - yes play joy breathing.
  • @delvingmind
I could listen to Perry all day! I just found him today and have been binging on his videos…just what I needed…right when I needed it. I love the human body and am in absolute awe of how it can heal itself when you get rid of the issue (rather than add another issue…like pharmaceuticals). I’ve been fascinating with and studying the vagus nerve for years and in under an hour he was able to connect the dots for me!! ❤. Edit…thank you for letting him speak and express his knowledge so freely without interrupting his flow of expression. His passion brought me on a journey!!
  • @haleyapriest1096
Thank you Dr Perry. I've studied Polyvagal theory for many years, but your explanation is by far the best!
  • @Bachconcertos
Wow!!! So chronologic fatigue syndrome - and Vagal nerve - massage the back of your skull and side of neck and above and below your collar bone. Under the collar bone abdominal muscles.
  • I enjoy m9ving around. All my jobs were physical and I was a Mom, so between work and my little boy, when I hit thd bed, that's where I stayed. I wouldn't even get up to pee. I was exhausted all the time. I never thought about Breathing, stretching, or improving myself or even being grateful for my good health, until I got really really sick in 2013.
  • This guy knows way more than what he is giving credit to (to it). He knows about energy! He is spot on! My dad has (emotional) trauma...when he gives himself time on heartfelt educational videos, the next day his mind works well. When he spends time watching news (fight or flight), he doesn't do so well the next day.

I'm so glad this guest came on. I can't tell you how much this means to me. I took notes and will follow as much as I can every day to heal my nervous system - have had several severe neuro symptoms for 7 mo, too much nervousness, temp. dysregulation, tears, insomnia, no appetite (drink shakes). I'm thinking that just maybe my appetite will come back eventually with the stomach massage. I'm glad you said to massage the stomach even if you don't have pain. Drs kept telling me its just my thyroid and I told them no as it wasn't precipitated by trauma (I've done lots of health research, and of all the videos I've watched through my research to get well, this is the best video out there for me I believe). The antibody test was normal and the Neurologist was surprised. At least now I have hope. I'm super sore below the collar bone and have been for so many yrs that I haven't even dared to get a massage because it hurts when I lay on my stomach, now I know what to do for it. Thank you - what do I owe you? You even encouraged me to start doing yoga. You made my day!! I'm crying tears of happiness right now!!!
  • @ginatucci8715
This is definitely why I feel like utter garbage. I'm swelling up, my brain feels dead, I'm tight all over (since car accidents that chiros haven't fixed), yep I'm feeding the dragon -cant sleep, I don't feel safe, my being is screaming for relief, every noise makes me jumpy and anxious, I'm having mental breakdowns daily. I haven't even been able to even get to my chiro bc I feel like I've given up. I rub my neck constantly, and often chest, armpits , and every tender spot, intuitively. I'll do it more now that you've confirmed for me. Thanks for this video
  • His massage techniques are a game changer. I defeated chronic fatigue/adrenal or hpa axis dysfunction in 3 days with everything else he talked about. Feels like I'd have knocked it out even faster with his massages. But 1 note on hydration. You can over do water. Instead add things to water including; apple cider vinegar, a lemon, magnesium powder, prebiotic powder. And drink bone broth on its own. I also made a tea out of cercumin + ginger + black pepper a touch of olive oil. That's 6 ideas and you ought to drink at least 8x per day. Your body will get nutrients while you hydrate. Good luck all
  • @Bachconcertos
I feel such incredible hope now to heal watching this video. I can go back to the things I loved movement soft delicate dance movements, voice exercise, massage, relaxing, joy mindless sillyness
  • @jimwsmith724
Great instruction here ! I mentioned vagus nerve to my doctor regarding lightheadedness and pain in my trap and collarbone I’ve had for years. He brushed it off as being just a digestion / and or fight or flight response nerve.
  • @Busybeemiss
I just had a styloidectomy that resulted from hypermobility. It’s literally a ligament that connects the jaw to the skull that calcified and was kinking my jugular vein. This thing looked like a dagger abutted to my C1 shredding my jugular and vagus nerve. I feel so much better from the surgery. After a lifetime of chasing what was wrong with me it finally came down to this. I’m better off for the journey of learning all the things. I found Dr Perry looking for lymphatic massage. The body work and working on my vagal tone is the next key. Thank you for this information. This is for someone out there. Styloids are becoming an epidemic because of the face down lifestyle. I found it through Dr Hauser of Caring Medical. Wealth of info to discover on the vagus nerve. Cervical correction is in order for many folks.
