  • The two goals against England basically describes Maradona entirely. The greatest + always controversial.

Everyone talks about the run, but that 1. 5 secs of play at the start where he controls, turns and takes two players out of the game is incredible. The speed, the smoothness of it is mesmerising
  • It's the goal you dream of scoring when you're playing midfield with friends

The first 3 touches are so sublime,he got rid of 2 players like nothing.

I was a child when this happened. So long as Football is played, this will always be folklore.
  • Mexico 1986 was Maradona at his absolute peak. I was 16 at the time and played in our high school team. Every young lad back then wanted to be Maradona. He was, and still is, the greatest icon of the beautiful game.
  • Why this goal is considered the greatest is not only because of the incredible dribbling skills and composure of Maradona but also it was played on a sub-standard pitch in Mexico. Gary Linekar in his commentary states that to score such a goal on that type of pitch was possible only to a person like Maradona. Maradona was one of his kind, greatest of them all.

Not only Maradona ran half the field but the heat in Mexico that day was extremely high.

I always feel amazed by the fact that the two most famous goals in football history was scored by the same man at the same night . Absolute LEGEND .

A midfield pass to Maradona could bé an assist for him.

I’m Argentinian (born in 1982). Maradona was one if not the most famous person in my country and now having being living in Europe and met people from all the world I noticed that maradona was famous everywhere that’s so crazy to understand. We have our own famous people celebrities but never imagined that Maradona was admired by such quantity of people

absolute skill. The guy was a freak. A one man team a lot of the time.
  • @iamwaseemnoori
The persona he bought into football is unmatched. Football and Maradona have become synonym to each other.
  • The goal that defined not only a WC, but also his performance in the whole tournament set a bench mark that has never been matched. RIP legend.

Two of the most iconic goals in the 20th century happened in the same match. Imagine how surreal that felt.

No other player will ever dominate a World Cup like he did in 86. Diego is eternal

This will forever be the benchmark of a world cup goal. Even though Messi scored a similar goal with Barcelona against Getafe, it's not the same as doing it in a world cup match with the national team
