In the aftermath of the 2017 General Election, Stacey Dooley heads to Northern Ireland to find out exactly who supporters of the DUP are.
She meets people who voted for a party that is both anti-Gay marriage and anti-abortion even when some don't agree, and discovers that the place is still bitterly divided years after the troubles.
Her investigation plunges her into the bitter politics of Northern Ireland where British and Irish identities coexist with unease

The fact she’s only been “ allowed “ to go to one concert is astounding to me she’s an adult

Love that Stacey’s accent went Irish , I thought I was the only person that after 10 seconds around someone with a strong accent I changed my whole voice

Does anyone remember the man that rang into the Stephen Nolan show after a woman’s house was damaged by a bonfire, he said “well they shouldn’t have built houses next to a bonfire sight”. Honestly it’s mental here.

"What do you think about same sex couples?" "I think they're wrong." "Everyone calls me a homophobe, which isn't true." Then what does she think the word homophobe means?

My god is inclusive, accepting, and loving. Who are you praying to that carries so much hate?

Poor wee brainwashed Ruth. I feel sorry for her.

She tries to see why people voted DUP, then most DUP voters she interviews mention Sinn Fein more than the DUP themselves. That sums it all up really, most people I've met from NI, unionist or nationalist, they don't care about gay marriage one way or the other. They vote DUP because they're afraid Sinn Fein will become the largest party if they don't.

Damn came here thinking some rich kids threw a massive ass party
  • Did you guys noticed how Stacey's accent changed when she spoke to that Irish girl? "There must be lads in Belfast, are you friends with them?"

5:55: "try to give a sense of history to the children" Why does something tell me her history lessons are going to be a bit one-sided?

I am so hurt , annoyed and disgusted ! I am Irish , not political and believe religion is a personal private choice ! To see the Irish flag being regarded the same as the Isis flag is simply wrong.

Stacey Dooley is a national treasure of the UK. So many young people who wouldn’t necessarily know about the topics she’s covered otherwise
  • @mfitzy100
Something oddly sad about this girl. Like her spirit and open mindedness has been crushed. I pity her

The hate and venom from everyone around those bonfires is repulsive
