There are a few months between the election and the inauguration in the US, but there are only a few hours between those things in the UK.

Must be weird to Americans to see an election end in such a civil manner 😂
  • I didn't vote for you, However if you stand by your word and gain my and millions of others trust we may just start to trust you in Government. Good Luck Mr Starmer.

Not a Labour supporter but I wish them well and hope they can indeed bring some stability and hope back to our rather battered and divided country.

I am a Reform voter, but I wish nothing but the best for Keir Starmer. I am not holding my breath but I hope can finally deliver for Britain. At the end of the day all that matters is the lives of ordinary Brits up and down the nation and if he can make their lives significantly better, all power to him.

    the dude gesticulating is priceless.
  • @probcsh
The guy doing the sign language seems more excited than Starmer himself 😂

The election results did not demonstrate people's trust in Labour's ability to govern but their distrust in the conservatives.

How respectful transfer of power works..
  • As a brit living in the u.s i cant tell you how refreshing it is to see a transfer of power done swiftly and honestly as possible..its a fkn circus over here
  • Nice to see a peaceful, respectful and uncontested transfer of power...unlike here in the US.

I sincerely hope Starmer can rebuild our trust and as he says, treat the British public "with respect" ...so much damage to repair but I wish him luck.
  • Congratulation to Labour Party and congratulation to Sir Stamer for his effort. I wish him the wisdom in the office as British Primer minister
  • A tough job but I imagine a talented lawyer from a normal background is better equipped than a man who does not know how to pay for petrol with a debit card. Good luck to you Keir.
  • I didn’t vote Labour but this was a good speech, and let’s hope he is genuine.
