This still works fine in 1.16.1, for anyone having trouble with it, make sure you put an item (any item) into the bottom dropper of the 2 droppers facing each other (ilmango forgot to show this in the tutorial). Also this should be self explanatory, but ONLY load empty boxes into the dispenser, since the boxes always need room for at least 5-6 slots worth of items (the items that build up in the hopper below the barrel)

I've been working on a machine like this forever! thank you ilmango, I was stumped on making it tileable. I always needed a space on the side for the output. (edit: the filtered output)

Mojang really should add a renewable source for Shulkers (in an intersting way), like a Shulker-spawner on the end-ships or if they 'accidentally' shoot each other a new Shulker would appear.

Thank you for this. I've tried and failed to create a recycling bin with a similar mechanic. You know how people sometimes lose all of their armor and gear if they die in a mob farm? I wanted a system for trash collection that would hold items in a queue. That's essentially what you've created here. Think gold farm with both stackable and unstackable items that overflow and need to be disposed of. This design could be modified to have two holding boxes. when the second gets filled the first can be emptied and then the second can flow into the first waiting for the second to fill again. No more starting over from scratch.

This is an AWESOME shulker box loader! I'm replacing all my random item loaders with this. It really saves room until the items can be later sorted. Having it as 1-wide tileable is just icing on the cake.

Did I miss the step where you drop a token into the flip-flop? It took me a little while to work out that you need one.

been looking for a shulker loader for totems (cuz unstackable and i have a allay sorter) but because hoppers only have 5 slots it causes other loaders nearby to think its full aswell (cuz 1 totem would be 3 redstone power, locking hoppers within 3 blocks). i stumbled upon this design which uses a barrel (which has 27 slots) so its only 1 redstone power for each 2 totems so it doesnt trigger others. great unstackable item loader!
