Only thing I worry about is lead fumes during the soldering process and the glass grinder bits getting into your lungs

Your hands aren't ugly!!! They are the hands of a craftsmen!!! They are art themselves!!!

I have been doing stained glass since 1990 and found your video great. By the way, there is nothing wrong with your hands either.

I have been making and teaching stained glass here in England for a number of years now, here's my tip for removing those glass shards that get embedded in your fingers and hands when you are working. Locate the spot where the glass is embedded and put a good size blob of washing up liquid (dish soap) directly onto the spot, gently rub it in a circular motion around the glass shard, in less than half a minute the glass splinter will have worked it's self out without you having to dig around in your hands with tweezers. Rinse the dish soap off with water. It works for wooden splinters too. I love your video, I wish I could have watched something as useful as this when I was first starting out.
  • This is only the 2nd video I've watched about stained glass. You just told me everything I need without annoying me. I usually make it 10 seconds into a video and I'm out. Thank you for being easy to watch and listen to. I never felt like this was about you, which is usually the problem. Thank you for imparting your wisdom without being annoying. You will be my go to instructor for my journey into stained glass.

There are thin, rubber tipped work gloves that could probably help you grip the material and protect your hands. They’re sturdier than rubber gloves but not so thick you’ll lose dexterity

My mom and I are starting stained glass work together and we’re so excited!! We’re using all your videos for help getting started ☺️

Never underestimate the library. There’s literally so many books to learn about tools needed and used in various styles of stained glass. Just because it’s not on youtube doesn’t mean information isn’t out there. :)

Wow. I had no idea this is how stained glass was made!! We had a kit when I was a kid and to this day I thought it was all done with little meltable beads. 🤦🏻‍♀️thank you so much for this. Incredibly informative.
