Thousands of people have protested in London against mandatory COVID vaccines for NHS staff ahead of the February deadline for the first dose.

Government regulations say staff in the health service must be fully jabbed by the 1st of April and there are concerns it could see 70,000 people lose their jobs.

The NHS says mandatory vaccination is vital but there are calls to delay that deadline, to prevent staff shortages.

Sky's Ali Fortescue reports from Central London.

Imagine the prime minister get to keep his job after breaking the rules. However, hard working men and women are losing their job for not breaking the rules.

11 years in NHS. Worked on COVID-19 ICU when it all started with a lack of PPE. Worked on Covid ward after. Covered shielding or off sick colleagues in the community. Went through all of this without a single day off sick while testing every day. Have a neurological condition but denied even a slightest consideration of exemption because of most common listed side effects of the vaccine (relating to my condition) by the manufacturers themselves. Now I have to lose my job? The nastiness and betrayal of this all is beyond my comprehension.

Absolutely love the “From clapping to Sacking the NHS” sign 👌

Wow, I don't think NHS can cope with losing so many staffs!

Why do brave NHS workers have to lose their jobs and BoJo gets to keep his!?

Solidarity with the NHS staff who have been threatened with a ridiculous criminal Government Mandate .

Vaccinated or not, this is the time we must stand together. It is NOTHING to do with an employer what someone’s status is. This is illegal, simple.
  • They are all adults and have the right to choose with their own God given discernment, I don't care if NHS staff are vaccinated or not just let them do their job!!! God bless them

The BBC have not mentioned the issue of Informed Consent. We all have the fundamental right to either accept or deny medical treatment if offered. Otherwise this takes us down the slippery slope of forced medication onto a population. Our right of choice would be denied.

70,000 NHS Staff?! That's an insane amount of people. But good on them for fighting for their rights. The way they're being treated is appalling, Clap for the NHS? 🤔

We need more treatments, people need to have cancer screenings and other appointments back.

From clapping to sacking this is a disgrace . Let them choose

Can someone please explain how unjabbed NHS staff are anymore a threat to patients than jabbed staff ???
  • I was a Staff nurse, and the government didn't care about us risking our health by not having decent meal breaks, time to go for a wee, and working 12 hour shifts which meant being out 14 hours. We did all the work junior Drs used to do, and the trust's were managed by folk who had worked in breweries and sweetie factories. People who wouldn't know how to take someone's temperature are bossing health professionals around. The on!y staff who could go for Christmas dinner in the canteen were the office staff...we had half an hour's lunch break unpaid which included getting to the other side of the building and standing in a queue, whether it was Christmas or not ! Boris hasn't a clue about caring and compassion. If I'd been looking after him I'd have had him prescribed prn Chinese burns!😷😵😠

The government must be stopped now at all costs. Tyranny should never be accepted.

As a NHS worker, I feel like I’ve been threatened my job for this vaccine and sadly I’ve had to have it.. this isn’t right or fair, I’m glad people can see it.
