In 1980 Freeda Purchased this beautiful low mile 1978 Anniversary corvette. She loved it, and cared for it. She spent quite a bit overhauling it, and making it look great. Years down the road, her daughter would inherit it, and thereafter the daughters son, my friend. That's where a guy comes in, and where this '78 is parked in a barn. I'm going to do everything I can to get this car back on the road and running once again!

This really is better than anything on TV. To put together almost 3 hours of high-quality content like this must take an insane amount of editing and behind the scenes work. Thanks for always pumping out amazing content! We appreciate it a lot dude!
  • Can a guy really say thank you enough for everything you give us? 2 hours and 47ish minutes of VGG! What a way to start the weekend

I am a 66 year old woman. I love to watch these videos. I am amazed and worry when you're driving them. Last night. I thought how lazy and soft i am. I love my AC. I cant imagine how hot it was while you put this car bCk together. Thank you for ALL that you do. Take care!

This is by far better than any feature film in theaters right now. Derek is the hero we need and deserve.
  • As a 50 year old man, I can honestly say this is literally become one of my favorite things to watch in my lifetime. That is including the awesome TV shows of the 1980's such as, The A Team, Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider and even Saturday morning cartoons! These long form Vicegrip Garage videos are my absolute favorite thing to watch in the evening on my weekends. Thanks Derek for giving us great content on a subject we all enjoy... Fixing old stuff! Keep it up!
  • The real hero is Jessica for letting Derrick tour the country just to keep us entertained. We appreciate you both.

This is a top 2 episode. Should be eligible for an Oscar for best comedy documentary series. But at this point Derek doesn’t need a stupid trophy to recognize his brand. It speaks for itself!

Nice job! My 82 collectors edition has 13,362 miles. My mom bought it new in 82 I start it up amd replace the brake system every 4 years. We lost mom in 97. Car still smells new when you open the door. No, she didn’t drive it much, but smiled every time she did!

My father , his name is Rick Pilgrim worked at Ringle Chevy in Edgar Wi from years 77-79 when he was in high school he is watching this video and he is very excited to say he is very sure that is the same car that was in the showroom in his younger days of being there !! Make him proud and bring this car back to life . Edgar Wisconsin is a small country farm town with a pop of about 1500 where I graduated high school in 2006 !!
  • All things dually considered. The VGG offerings are the best shows of any network, YouTube or Morse Code message. Period.

With over 685,000 views in one day I'm happy to see your channel is doing well. You sir are one of the rare treasures on the tubes. God Bless you and your family and thank you so much for all your hard work in providing us all with this great entertainment. Hope you're having a great day!

I'm 15 My grandfather recently passed away One of the things you left me was a 1968 Chevy Corvette That's been off the road since 1972 when he crashed it he bought all the parts he needed to put it back together he just never did and sat in a garage ever since there's no serious rust on it or anything so I hope to get her back on the road thanks for inspiring me to work on older cars like my grandfather's Corvette. He used to be a pretty prominent street racer in the area

My grandpa was a GM mechanic for 30 years. When they poured their concrete driveway at his house, they wrote Corvette across it before it dried. Still there to this day. He always had corvette emblems and hats and things in the garage. Lots of great memories. Thanks, Derek

I like how thoughtful you always are towards the garage/barn owners of the vehicles. Sweeping up, applying cat litter (StaDry), and all the other extra caution you take being respectful. Honestly, that says a lot about the type of person you are.

37 years and not a single repair on the way home sheeesh that's AWESOME 🎉❤
  • @tstahler5420
I watched the entire video in one shot. It was excellent! You asked for suggestions. I think you should detail it to the 9s. Pull the seats, carpet , door cards, and shampoo and deep clean. Detail the dash, fix the clock. Service the rear-end. Deep clean under the hood. Install a Holley Sniper kit. Flush that crusty cooling system. Install classic corvette valve covers. As far as the paint, prep it and clear coat it. It has a really good-looking patina, preserve it. Anyway, you asked for suggestions 😂
  • We are so grateful for you Derrick, Jessica, and the family. Please remember to take plenty of time with your family. We'll still be here for you! You've helped so many people. More than you know😊
  • @5ballew3
Your videos have the ability to relax people, so much so, that they don't even realize 2 hours and 48 min. have gone by. Almost 3 hours went by and it felt like 30 min. That just shows the quality of your content. Thanks for all your hard work, Derek and Jessica. So close to 2 million!
  • @Sammywhat
CONGRATULATIONS ON 2 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!!!! No one deserves it more than a guy and his hard-working family. Woo Hoo!! 🥳🍾🎈🍻
  • Derek’s laugh when something goes better than expected is so incredibly relatable!
