As a Polish individual who resided in the USA for over 35 years, I experienced a gradual decline in quality of life each year since my arrival. Four years ago, the tipping point was reached, prompting my family's return to Poland. We now reside happily in Warsaw, enjoying its safety and cleanliness. Our daughter, born in California, Orange County refuses to entertain the thought of returning. This decision ranks among the best in my life. It's not solely a California issue; the entire country is crumbling while its elites prioritize excessive spending on endless wars and undocumented immigrants.

How many dreams died behind every closed shop saddens me the most.

40 years ago Polish people dreamt about living in US, nowadays Americans don't even know they should be dreaming about living in Poland and it's a really bitter irony.

LA will never recover in my lifetime. I have just about given up on AMERICA. What a dump this country has become.

Just visited LA in about the same time. LA was one of my dream place to explore as a foreign visitor. I was shock by what I saw and smelt in the downtown. I heard about the city since I was a child, couldn’t believe it is what it is now.

Our government has priorities, and Americans are not even in the top ten.

When USA can “give” so much money on wars, why not use that money to take care of its own people? Very, very sad😞

Imagine having the money to solve every problem in your country but you rather use it for war instead.

We went there a couple years ago. Parts of LA were post-apocalyptic. Skid Row was the most shocking poverty I have ever seen in my life. Literally like a city of beggars like in a post apocalyptic sci-fi movie. That made me realise America is screwed.

When I watch old black and white American movies I always admire how well- dressed people are, how orderly and clean streets are! And NOW! Total degradation!😢

How does a City like LA leave a pile of Trash that big downtown. The City should be ashamed of itself. Unreal.

I have traveled extensively in Europe. None of the European cities are anywhere as filthy as American Cities ! Its tragic to see how far America has fallen !

My son was there on business over 2 years ago and said he'd never go back because of the stench. Which was horrendous.

It’s MIND BLOWING that many California politicians are PROUD of these cities. 🤦‍♂️ To me it’s very sad! 😢

All of these local politicians should be held accountable for all this mess ….

What caught my attention is that there isn't one single window broken and the place invaded. There's "someone" controlling this devastation. This's orchestrated.

So sad. I used to vacation in S.F. every few years and was a customer of many of the restaurants and shops now GONE. I moved out of CA several years ago. Saw the writing on the wall even then.
