Konami completely sucks. Glad Rux isn’t sponsored by them so he can speak objectively about them. Yugioh isn’t dying because it’s a bad game, it’s dying because of the way it’s managed and how often they they change the meta.

A huge thing missing from this conversation is where Blue-Eyes went price wise. It actually spiked with sales at 4.5k to 5k, and has dropped and degraded more than 50% from early sales back then as times gone on.

As of today (8/31/23) pure silver is $0.8/g, and the platinum Blue-Eyes weighed about 22g on average. Assuming this Dark Magician is a similar weight means the melt value of this card is about $17.60. Also, most of the Platinum Blue Eyes had scratches on them from the factory. You can see the scratches right through the acrylic display, so grading these is just crazy. Personally I would not buy this product.

Some context: they did release around 15 more platinum blue eyes for tournament winners. They’re numbered 1013 for example

Just so everyone knows, silver is like $30 for 1 once or 28 grams. Even if the card is like 5 or 6 oz, it is only $180. Konami is making a 9x profit from this. Ladies and Gentlemen, just go buy regular silver Jewelry and call it a day.

I remember carting and about to check out, but was scared of the possible “reprint” capability they termed in, ended up passing for that reason. Also at the end of the day, I’d rather have an original print for that price

It could be real platinum at that price! The cost of one ounce of actual platinum today is about $979 and this DM won’t be an entire ounce of SILVER! I get it’s a collector piece but seriously Konami?!
