A tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean has been designated Potential Tropical Cyclone 5 as of late Sunday. It is forecast to strengthen to a tropical storm on Monday. It could then become a hurricane by Wednesday as it passes over or near some of the northern Caribbean islands including Puerto Rico.
