  • No matter what happened or didn't happen these guys left us some of the greatest music of all time .
  • @FBDerringer
A great songwriter and huge part of the 60’s and beyond. Rest in peace Robbie.
  • Their music was magical, nuanced, original, and timeless. Each musician was a special part of a wonderful group. I will always consider The Band's music to be some of the finest.

The Band will always be the Greatest. You will never see such individual talents, work so well together. Robbie Levon, the raw emotion of Dankos voice, and Manuels personal, from the heart phrasing. Then , the musical master, Garth, witj his classic, bach organ chords. What a unique musical style and group, never to be duplicated

RIP Robbie Robertson, your loss has really hit me bad... music legend. You, Levon, Richard and Rick are sorely missed!

I love all these guys, so much. Their art is truly amazing. The industry was tough on all of them. I can only say “Thank You” for all they went through!
  • I always liked Robbie's honesty, and I also understand fall outs with fellow musicians. Like family, one has arguments but they go nowhere and are never meant to last and don't. RIP Robbie you've left us your music. You will not be forgotten.

Only one person could’ve written “The Night they Old Dixie Down” and “Up on Cripple Creek” and only one singer could’ve voiced them. Every cover ever since has had that perfection to measure up to.

I had the privilege of serving Robbie over the years; such a wondrous soul, something his music reflects but doesn't fully capture. Rest in the peace that comes in the wake of the applause that a million hearts breaking makes...

RIP Robbie. Great guitarist and song writer. The Band's music is timeless

Refused to bad mouth an old mixed up friend who was long gone. True class. Rest easy brother.
  • @slimbuttermilk
Robbie focused on "the big picture", and how significant, and beautiful was that picture. You can't help but hear "life's too short to be little" in all of his answers.
  • I can't ever recalli Robbie Robertson ever saying a bad word against the late great Levon Helm ...not once ! Now that Robbie is no longer with us too , i suspect those guys and Richard and Rick will once again be making the most magical music together with an angel filling in for Garth .(impossible i know ) . RIP the incomparably gifted Robbie Robertson .
  • Years ago my friend and co music writer and I spent a lot of time arguing. So much so we ended up in therapy and stopped working together. After some years we formed a trio with another old friend and all of the problems, new one’s manifested themselves and we had to just realize we could no longer make music together. We have remained good friends and these many years. To hear Robbie talk so glowingly of his time with Levon is a joy to hear. It reminds me of the old lyric “you always hurt the one’s you love”
  • ❤The Band❤ Levon is a hometown boy... in 1962 he worked at the laundry mat where my mom went...😭
  • So sad for passionate music lovers everywhere that Robbie, Rick, and Levon who gave us so so much are now gone. For me it can be hard to watch and listen to the Last Waltz on youtube without tearing up😢 How lucky we were to have them.
  • Everyone can and should learn a profound lesson from Robbie's words ❤
