Not a royalist by any means, but this woman made a promise that she kept for over 70 years. How uncommon is that. Hail and farewell.

The lowering of the vault and her personal bagpiper walking away while playing a final goodbye was tearful and breathtaking

What a day it has been. No one does this better than the Brits. I was glued to the TV all day long. Rest In Peace, Your Majesty.

How is it possible that a woman I had nothing to do with has me feeling so deeply saddened by her loss. She is no longer that constant in our ever changing world and that has triggered some immense sadness in me. Unbelievable. Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth (the Great).
  • I've heard "God Save the King" sung countless times since the Queen's death, but this one hits different. There's a sense of finality to it as the Queen is lowered into the vault. You can see the weight of the moment on the King's face. Gives me shivers.
  • The sound of the pipes slowly fading into the distance - like her soul was slowly leaving this mortal world. And King Charles did look SO sad. I watched both my parents lowered into their vaults, & that's when it really struck me - they were truly gone. She's lain her burden down now, & is in God's Presence. He's given her a NEW crown.
  • Some people think a monarchy is dated but I for one am glad that traditions like this remain in this modern, frantic ,fast food world .
  • King Charles looked devastated. My heart breaks for him, and Princess Ann. Both had the closest bond with the Queen, and their daily life was wrapped with the Queen. No matter how old we and our parents get, their loss is a heartbreak to us. No matter if Queen or commoner.
  • 1 year ago, Queen Elizabeth watched her husband's coffin being lowered and silently wept at the sight of losing her life long companion. Today, King Charles takes her place.....to mourn his mother, with the same amount of heart break in his face as his mother had. My heart goes out to him in his time of sorrow.
  • Seeing how heartbroken Charles is, reminds me of back when people were asking him if he was anxious to be King, and he said something to the effect of: "You do realize my mother has to DIE in order for that to happen." I feel so bad for him.

The horse Emma, her corgis and her personal bagpiper walking away until the music was fading in the distance. Such poignant moments 😢
  • May God bless her soul...very moving ceremony...made me cry...my husband died age 33...he had bagpipes too...was a police officer and the memory still hurts...now I watch a great sovereign, a dear lady of strength, honor,duty....meet her final destiny...and I am moved beyond words...God bless her and hold her dear...we will surly miss her and not forget her....
  • Very respectful, never showed the coffin lowered, they focused on the piper. Respectful and honourable reporting

The pageantry/ceremony and how they organized all of this without one problem with exception of a guard fainting is amazing to me..
  • The lowering of the volt and her personal bagpiper walking away while playing a final goodbye tearful as well as breathtaking. It brought back to mind of my grandmother's memorial service when she has a bagpiper play at the end of the service. May the Queen rest in peace. Love from Dublin, Ohio USA
  • This is always the saddest part, when the coffin of loved ones are lowered. I cried too.
  • Ok that lowering the coffin and bag pipes fading away were impressive.
  • It just hit me ... after this moment we'll never hear of her in the news or media again.... we will not mention her in present times no more.... that it's going to be a hard thing to get used to.
  • Dignity , integrity, honor and service - that was Queen Elizabeth. Not British but I shed tears for her today. Condolences to the British people.
