Existing, seemingly purposely, despite of the void calling insistently to them. For it is those sorrowful few, who can bear the pain that is knowledge of our good, and our evil... If you take time from your life to read this, know I believe you are capable of your greatest goods, and your greatest evils are no more than a nightmare... When you allow such to be your reality. I love you. You curious reader, wonderous seeker of information, and perspective.

"Put your hands up, and surrender!" they said as they surrounded him with weapons armed. He put his hands up, but withheld his tongue. He stood there, his cloak swaying in the wind and his hood holding steady. Their leaders came forth from behind the soldiers, walking with superiority and a smirk on their faces. The men and woman were dressed in pristine military regalia - practically untouched by neither war nor combat. "Well, well, well...you've been quite the thorn in our side - all those raids on our encampments, the ambushes. But now that won't be an issue now." the woman said. She snapped her fingers and one of the men that followed gave her a piece of fabric. Upon closer inspection, he saw that it was the insignia of his resistance, his warriors. The fabric looked soaked with blood, the edges tinged with black from burns both from flame and magic alike. The woman than threw the cloth in front of him, shaking the blood off her hand in scornful disgust. "They were quite the challenge to take on. But not enough of a challenge, to be honest." She said behind a vile grin. "Many of them are dead, and those that are still alive are being held for execution back at the capital." The woman paused as she walked closer to him. "All that's left is you," she moved to the bag that laid beside him, the strap broken from a well-placed shot to it. She pulled a book from it, its cover and bindings from back to front encased with all manner of arcane symbols. "And this heretical book you found. Heresy is something not to be taken lightly back home." Despite the situation, he stood completely still. After removing the cover for evidence, she grabbed a torch from one of her soldiers - practically yanking it from his hands - and lit the pages ablaze. She walked up to him, without fear and full of arrogance, came up to his ear and whispered. "How does it feel to be alone?" She turned to walk away, but stopped when she heard laughing. Not just a giggle, but a laugh that grew into a fit of bellowing laughter. Her rage grew from this insolence, and marched to him. All the sudden she was stopped in her by the impossible. With an almost inhuman speed, he was right in front of her and in her ear. "Who said I was alone?" he whispered. She looked back as her men began to yell as though in shock, and she too felt the same when she looked back. The flames of the book had now blackened and changed into a plethora of otherworldly colors and shapes. Words came from behind the woman, coming from the leader of the resistance. Only he spoke a single word. "Rise." The ground erupted behind the soldiers, the dust churned up into the air making it impossible to see. But it didn't impede what could be heard. Screams of pain could be heard as what seemed to be the clash of swords and the wet sounds of broken flesh being torn open. A man tried to run out of the cloud of dust before being yanked back in by something with inhuman speed and strength. "What did you do?" she yelled at him whilst placing her sword right on his neck - ready to slit his throat. He simply stepped back. She was confused at first, all until something came flying into her and knocked her to the ground. She opened her eyes and saw the mangled face of one of her men, their eyes and jaw torn apart. She knocked the body off herself, her uniform now ruined with blood. She didn't use much effort though. The body was ripped away from her body and lifted up into the air. What she saw horrified her. While at first intangible to their vision, the body it held began to slowly disappear as it was ripped apart and eaten right in front of them. The blood and viscera trailed down its face - slowly revealing its features and eventually ending its invisibility. The creature appeared as though from smoke and roots, all of which were black as the moonless midnight sky. Its head had upon five eyes, each holding a baleful crimson hue with black sclera, and a split jaw with thick plates sharpened to cut through flesh and armor alike. "This is my army," he said. Runes now adorned his arms and even spread unto his clothing. Humanoid could also be seen within the smoke, having helmets rather than monstrous features like the beast beforehand - which had now gone onto dessert with the woman's lieutenants. After ripping apart the last of the men, the beast moved its gaze to her. She scrambled away fumbling for a crossbow behind her. As the beast slowly advanced towards her, she loaded the crossbow and aimed. The beast began its stride, only to be stopped by a bolt between the eyes. She cheered in victory. But it was short-lived, her cheers being replaced by fear. The bolt fell out and away from where it landed, the beast's eyes regained their glow - reigniting as though they were lanterns that had been extinguished. The beasts continued its trajectory, only for it to be stopped by the mysterious figure. The tables had turned, where he walked up to her and knelt to whisper into her ear, and whisper one statement alone." "How does it feel to be lost?" Her eyes widened as she saw the man's face for the first time, bearing witness to his dark eyes and tusks jutting from his mouth. A gasp came from her mouth, as a sharp blade was struck into her abdomen. She looked down and saw that it was her own blade. The man twisted the blade with a vicious flick of his wrist. He stood up, and walked away to beyond what was left of her troops. She could see those that were beyond the ones surrounding him were being picked off one by one. Her vision began to blur as she went into shock, the last thing she saw being the beast slowly come towards her... ------------------------ The man stood before his army, who had now left the troops surrounding them defeated and destitute. He ordered them to leave survivors - those who tell their superiors of what happened. He knew they wouldn't believe the survivors, but the other soldiers would. He knew that the military leaders and the noblemen and women would brush it off as hysteria, but the soldiers' morale would become stretched as the rumors spread. He didn't worry about the book being burnt, he already memorized the spells within it. In fact, he was glad they had burnt it. For unbeknownst to them, the book held instruction on breaking the army's conjuration...

I have something good for this Felix whistled to Landon quickly conversing with him before Landon threw a punch and the two began to fight. Felix moved with a smooth confidence a professional would have. His style constantly switched to counter Landon’s kicks and punches. Landon launched a full assault on Felix who blocked a brutal hit with his arms and kicked him in the chest. Landon went sprawling into the dirt picking himself up. Felix smirked brutally shoulder checking him, the two crashing to the ground. Felix caught Landon's fist twisting it before getting thrown to the floor from Landon’s quick thinking. “Кажется, ты потерял свое мастерство, Лэндон!” Felix said sarcastically in Russian. “В твоих мечтах старик” Landon retorted, spitting blood to the side. Felix rolled over getting up avoiding a punch that landed inches from his head. He caught a kick slamming his elbow into Landon’s ribs. Landon groaned curling up before knocking Felix in the nose, making him recoil and let go. Felix stumbled back a few feet holding his nose. He smirked, feigning weakness, while Arthur recognized the trick waiting to see if Landon would fall for it. Landon, seeing the opportunity, tries to attack only to get grabbed by the neck and slammed to the ground. He squirmed around trying to get free. A solid kick gets Felix off of him for a few seconds. Felix rolled under Landon punching the back of his knee. Landon kicked him in the face before twisting as he fell and bringing his knee to Felix's nose. Felix groaned his nose dripping blood now, His aggression levels rose visibly based on his fighting. He exchanged a rapid set of glancing blows with Landon who started backing up under the brutal attack. Felix swung his leg in a sharp arch and slammed down on Landon’s knee sending him down to the ground leaping back in a backhandspring to avoid his swipes as he grew desperate. Felix lept high in the air, kicking Landon to the side as he hit him in the back with a well timed punch. He blocked the next four strikes, easily overpowering Landon catching blow after blow into his gloves. The muffled strikes the only noise from the two. Felix leaned back avoiding a kick to his face skillfully using Landon’s momentum to twist him to the side jabbing his back with a fast sharp attack. Felix’s eyes narrowed as he saw the killing intent form in Landon’s gaze.
