  • I do see that the "filter" wasn't pushed all the way down on the can in the video. I've since pushed it down all the way. Thanks!
  • @armith
I was just looking at a catch can for my TA and the MM was one I was eyeballing.. Great timing!

Catch cans are really an overlooked thing on alot of cars hell I just threw one on my 95 TA a couple weeks back and its doing its job pretty good so far its catching all of the oil that would be going right back into the intake manifold.
  • @Dubiels
Put a catch cam on the Silverado for sure! Lots of those trucks on the road and I’m sure ppl would want to see it
  • @HawaiiZR1
Thank you for the video. I installed a non-vented catch can on my other car and no vacuum issues. This time I bought a vented one similar to you MM catch can. I thought I might have issues with vacuum and have not installed it yet. It seems you don’t have any vacuum issues so I am relieved.
  • @backmonavery
I had that same line up. Sold my ta and my vette wasn't a z06. But they look beautiful together
  • @garyhood8221
Be aware that using the filter on the catch-can causes a vacuum leak. The car will run but will be lean. You must block off the filter opening to use this on a vacuum sourced PCV like the stock setup. To use the filter, you need to have it connected to the valve covers with the vacuum port(s) plugged on the engine (non-PCV style).

I got the mild setup but a bit confused where to install the hoses. The dirty side from where the loop was coming from the Valley plate. I have a Sheet Metal welded custom Manifold Intake and it got 4 hoses going in with the larger 1/4 NPT going to the brake booster, the smaller 1/8 NPT coming out of the Manifold going to the vapor canister purge solenoid, the rest is where I'm lost.

Great informative video. Also, huge thanks for not having some awful rap song playing in the background!
  • @general23cmp
What is the breather on the can for? Doesn’t clean air come in through the normal PCV routing, pre-maf?
  • Yeah, and I want to put this in here too. I've seen where thottle bodies on C5s are linked to the radiator. Their thottle bodies are actually water cooled. I've heard the c6s are too. I've never checked on mine.

While I agree that using a catch can does help with the oil issue, using a vented can has to be the best ways to ruin the car driving experience. Oil vapour smells so strong and it fills the cabin when you vent it in the engine bay. Always showing up for dinner smelling like an oil change shop gets old pretty quick. One way to avoid it is to run a venturi tube in the exhaust and plump the top of the can to it. The passing exhaust creates a small vacuum that draws in the oil vapours and sends them them out the back through the exhaust. Obviously, you can't do this if you're running cats ... but if you're running a catch can, chances are you're not running cats.

Nice. I just picked up a low mile, cammed (Katech Torquer 110) C6 Z06 myself. Mine is Yellow though cause I like the more brighter colors. Anyway, thanks for the video. I picked up a mild MM catch can setup to put on my Z also. One quick question, you going to do the Evo-X seats in your Z? I'm thinking about it myself as a future upgrade. I know you put them in your other C6.
