Extreme Constructions: The Meraviglia Cruise Ship:    • Extreme Constructions: The Meraviglia...

It’s a major construction project, aimed at doubling the width of the Suez Canal and deepening its main waterway. 500 million cubic meters of sand and soil have already been transported from all over the world. Using unprecedented 3D images, we reveal how the canal will be widened. We also look back to the original construction, back in 1859, to show how it first came to be built.

The Suez Canal transformed the world forever. Now, again, widening it is a major construction project, aimed at doubling the width and deepening its main waterway. 500 million cubic meters of sand and soil have already been transported from all over the world. Using unprecedented 3D images, we reveal how the canal will be widened. We also look back to the original construction, back in 1859, to show how it first came to be built.

My grand grandpa died while digging the canal project, tbh a lot of Egyptian workers died to make it come true, God bless their soul.
  • I was very impressed to learn that 80% of the project was financed by the generosity of the Egyptian population, a true act of patriotism!

As a South African 🇿🇦 I’m happy to know that the project is funded mainly by Egypt 🇪🇬 . Proudly African 👌
  • As an Egyptian im stunned by the amount of engineering genius put into this project throughout its history and after ive watched this exceptional documentary….i feel extremely proud of every free “unknown” Egyptian that participated and lost their lives for this world changing project to come to life those are the true unsung heroes that deserve honoring …

Damm!! It was brutal how people were forced in Egypt to provide Hard Labour for the construction of the Canal in the 80s without Advanced Machinery but still they found a way !!

Wow, living in the Americas we only think about the feats of the Panama Canal. For me this was a huge eye opener.

A totally brilliant documentary. A story very well and comprehensively told. How disappointing that the adverts eat into its integrity with the sheer quantity and frequency of these ads. I suspect somebody is being greedy at the expense of the viewer.

Panama took 30 yrs to build, Suez took 10 yrs to build, the harsh environment of the Panama made that one alot harder to make!~
