  • This reminds me of something. The Swiss were doing their regular war games and they had invited a Prussian to come and see it. The Prussian jested to a Swiss corporal we have twice the number you have, what will you do if we come to invade? The corporal shrugged his shoulders and replied I guess i'll shoot twice.
  • US: The forests speak Vietnamese Germany: The snow speaks Russian Austria: The mountains speak German, Italian, Romansch, French
  • Morgarten, Sempach, Näfels, Morat, those names are very important to us, swiss people, and often overlooked by bigger battles such as Agincourt. Thank you to bring light to battles that deserved it and that were epic too ! And I hope youll cover more swiss battles !
  • As a Canadian I am envious of the Swiss people’s history of working together while recognizing the value of their culture and independence from foreign overlords.
  • @isyoulame
IT'S OVER LEOPOLD, I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND!
  • Duke Leopold 2: i play Heavy cavalry Werner: you just activated my trap card
  • This was just one of many such battles where the Swiss absolutely annihilated far larger invading armies. Swiss infantry were totally a thing, for hundreds of years, and so were their battle tactics. Possibly still are, as they have national service and fight for each other.
  • @Khobotov
Who's gonna win: -Austrian Nobels with heavy armor on horses. -Some swiss boys with rocks and logs.
  • I live in Oberägeri, close to Lake Aegeri, and yes it is a wonderful place. As a native of Zug, I have always been fascinated by the defensive strength of Switzerland, and no matter where you go in Switzerland, you have traces of the old houses and the old battlefields. Even today there are countless castles and fortresses, such as the castle of Cham or the powder towers of Zug.
  • Coming from switzerland this video made me quite proud even though i already knew about this battle from school
  • "And then the Swiss militia charged!" That sounded like "and then the winged hussars arrived" ;)
  • You should definitely also do the Battle of Sempach, continue with Swiss history videos.
  • I'm a Canadian of Swiss origin; fantastic to see this piece of history being told!
  • For such a small force, to overwhelm an army 4-5 times bigger, I must say that Swiss commitment in therms of heart, was much bigger than all the enemy army altogether! This is my first knowledge of Swiss warfare and it was presented at Oscar level!
