XENOPHAGE 2022 Breakdown [Destiny 2] The Best Machine Gun Available?

Publicado 2022-11-23
In this video we'll be taking a look at how Xenophage is preforming in the current sandbox of Destiny 2. Bungie has given Machine Guns as a whole have seen a few buffs over the past year in an attempt to make them a more viable weapon class. Xenophage has always been one of the better options in the weapon class, but does it now compete with other more heavily used weapon types? I'll breakdown it's damage, functionality, and performance in this video and you can make that call for yourself! Enjoy! 🍻

you forgot to list the sound design for xeno in the positive qualities, love those KACHONK KACHONK KACHONK damage phases

Xeno desperately needs a catalyst. Give it like incandescent or a perk that applies scorch on each consecutive hit eventually leading to an ignition

Xenophage should come from that box titled "Ol' reliable". It's not the best of the best, but it's extremely easy to use and it puts good work considering that ease. Honestly I don't think that this gun needs any changes, even a catalyst would feel more like a checkmark to me.
  • I'm glad they reverted the changes they made to it last season. I love this gun and it always stays in my inventory (along with Tractor Cannon and Lament). Personally, I would love if the explosions applied Scorch similar to Skyburner's Oath. I don't think it's needed, but it would be cool haha

Xeno was one of those things that looked like a beast when others used it, but when I got it ... I realized it was basically the damage of body hitting targets with a sniper ..

Great to see you test against a "real" boss enemy too. Some people don't recognize that and in this case it's important.

Can't wait for announcement of what Exotics are getting changed next season.
  • I wish Warmind cells were still strong. Hopefully a catalyst for xeno someday. Would be nice to have autoloading or even incandescent.

The ONLY downside to Xenophage is that it doesn't properly stun Overload Champs. You have to get three Xeno shots into an O.C. before they're stunned and since O.C. regen health so fast, that's essentially three wasted shots. But since Overload Machine Gun mod is going away next season, i guess it doesn't matter.

Xeno is awesome. Like you said, The damage is reliable, and it has unlimited range. And this is just a personal thing, but the sound and sight make me happy. Lil frustrating to get, especially if you don't like puzzles, but it's 100% worth it

I love workhorse exotics like this. Don't get me wrong, exotic weapons that behave in funky ways or do fun stuff (looking at you, Ticuu's) are really great but you just can't beat the universal utility of stuff like Xeno.

I run warlock with 3explosive/bountiful/seeking wells for sake of doing some Support type work. This thing looks like I might have to actually bug clan chat for a Pit of Heresy party. I have my run any dungeons, and my last raid was… Crota in D1. Knowing I can rain fire onto movs and spawn a handful of wells for my ground-bound fireteam members seems like great fun.

If Xenophage has anti champion capabilities, definitely unstoppable
  • @johndo2761
This is exactly what I needed a content creator that spreads the stinky cheeks of destiny stat numbers and dives in. You earned this sub
  • Xeno broke that Well of Radiance in 3 shots... That's pretty dangerous!

Super great for verity’s brow on atheon too
  • @jucoco1
Really shines on Totems in Kings Fall

Fun fact about how useless is Xeno as an anti overload MG: It takes several rounds to stun the champion with comparatively against other MG, a slow fire rate. Thunderlord has intrinsic overload that takes TWO rounds to stun an overload champ and ONE, ONLY ONE round to stun a champ with mod stacking.
