Before watching the answer, comment here which violin you think is the 10 Million Dollar Stradivari and I'll see if you were right. No cheating!
-
If you give me the 10 million violin I will make it sound like a 53 dollar violin
-
I would be scared to touch something worth 10 million dollars
-
Very interesting. $450- 1000 seems like the point of diminishing returns for the untrained ear.
-
Without hearing them in person, I prefer the 5th violin. Not surprised to hear it wasn't the most expensive. I have found that my preference in other instruments is always the "second" best.
-
Now let’s give those to a beginner violin student and hear how all those will sound like a $5 violin
-
Jokes on you,I can make a $10million violin sound like a $10 violin
-
I consider the cheap Amazon to be the most valuable violin for it provides people wanting to learn violin the means to develop this new valuable skill. So having such a starter violin and starting a passion like that is priceless.
-
With 4 and 5, you can hear the bow gripping the strings. They have incredible response and crisp, clean start and finish.
-
"Oh look!, it's a $10M worth violin!, let's play meme songs with it!"
-
I knew that the second one was the cheapest because my violin sounds like that. I need a new one

I'm a violinist and was super curious to see if I'd be able to recognize the "best" violin. I placed the first three violins correctly, but I kept being uncertain about #4 and #5. There are probably a few factors here which we can't recognize as listeners, regarding the playability. Rob talked a lot about how it felt to play #4, how the instrument wanted to give back a lot, and I think this is something that only the player can percieve best. To me, #5 sounded nicer than #4, but that's only half of the violin's personality. The other half is how it connects with the player. So I'm curious if I would still have ranked #4 above #5, if I had the opportunity to play it, myself 🤔

Very strangly I closed my eyes and I was able to notice which one was souding better and for sure I realized that number 2 never sounded good. Was very sharp and it felt like if someone was cutting on my skin. I knew third did not sound better tham the first and 4th and fifth was confusing, but they sounded a lot better than any of the previous ones

1. A violin. 2. Another violin. 3. Definitely a violin. 4. Sounds like a violin. 5. Still a violin.
-
playing megalovina on a 10 mil dollar violin... what a mad lad
-
Guessing from most expensive to cheapest - 35412 They do sound different, even though I have no musical experience. Also 3 and 5 are very similar.
-
I was surprised to find that my favorite sounding violin of the bunch #3 was the $450 student grade. Second favorite was #5. I honestly didn't like how dark the $10m strad sounded, but #2 was so obviously the cheap amazon one. This makes me feel better about buying a $700 Schuster&Co as my first violin. If I had spent any more $$$ the difference in sound would probably go unnoticed by me. I'm thinking this will last me for a long long time, if not for life

Rob: Im using this songs cause they're good to you hear the difference between the viollins... The truth: memes
-
“Can you hear the difference between cheap and expensive violins?” LingLing: With enough practice, you can too
-
I thought that the second one was one of the most expensive, I loved the sound 😅
