Hi Karl great video as all ways. I use Vintage Kodachrome by Ritchie Roesch plus two others on my XT3 and to get round entering the values in the white balance every time i use "custom white balance" so you can set up to 3 different ones this way i have 3 custom film simulations with a custom white balance to suit
  • Interesting to see all these different options that are available - very cool
  • Brilliant stuff here. I futtzed about for ages, and never could work out how to save the names of the simulations. Thank you. I've recently unearthed a heap of Kodachrome, Ektachrome and Agfa slides which I took over 40 years ago and have been scanning my way back along memory lane. Some of these simulations really do work very well, and when the current madness ends, I'm going back to some of the original places to photograph those scenes again with a modern camera and using simulations of the films I used then. I feel a big album or photobook coming on.
  • Thanks for sharing Karl, ☺️ Im definitely gonna play around with this. 🤓 //freddie
  • Great Karl, so many settings. I know playing around with settings and tones too much eliminates some data from images and produces artifacts sometimes but it must be fascinating just to play around with them. Brilliant software on the camera to have all those features available!

Thank you so much for sharing this video. We appreciate it. :) You make it easier for us to play with the different film simulations. May I ask how often do you update the custom films spreadsheet please? Would love to go back from time to time to check for new updates. :)
  • OK, so now I have something else to work at on my (New old) Xpro1. I appreciate that not all of the films are available on all models, but it will be fun to have a play. Thx. Alex.,
  • I have a XT20 and an XT2. Still getting to grips with their finer points. May well get a near new 2nd hand XT3 and that will be as much camera as I will need... I enjoyed shooting Kodachrome 25 ( think it was ISO 64) and also some Fuji later non-emulsion films- ISO 800. Appreciate this video is about colour, not film speed, but would be happy if I can view your documentation and create something pretty close to the Kodachrome ? 25 which seemed pretty much the standard film my father used, yes, quite a few years'' ago. Still have the superb slides he took of our family, way back when. Have had some printed and the colour of that single film is superb. And btw: my late father was not a keen photographer, just took good photos. Btw: just came across your site.
