Winter Trail Tips | Discover Sweden’s Kungsleden with Dog Sled

Published 2024-07-15
Winter Trail Tips from Sweden's Most Famous Trail, Kungsleden.
Matti takes you along on a part of the Kungsleden Trail for 6 days on one of our dog sledding tours and tell you about how it works along the trail, both how it works along the trail with markings, ice etc, how it works in the mountain cabins and much other good to know knowledge.
Kungsleden means The King's Trail in english and it's possible to travel here both by skis, snowshoes etc in winter and hiking or running in summer.
The cabins and trails are maintained by the Svenska Turistföreningen (Swedish Tourist Association) also called STF. If you want to get info about when the cabins and mountain stations are open and how it works with booking we recommend you to visit their website: www.swedishtouristassociation.com/
Happy Trails!

We are Stina & Matti and we live in Northern Sweden in a small place called Jokkmokk. Except for making videos we also run a small company called Jokkmokkguiderna and a kennel called Working Husky Kennel. We offer guided outdoor tours in Swedish Lapland all around the year. During the winter we mostly do dog sled tours and in the summertime, it’s hiking tours, wildlife safaris, canoe, and packraft trips. We live year-round in Jokkmokk with our Siberian Husky and 2 Border Collies.

  • What a beautiful landscape and video! I fell in love with lappland 25 years ago, but could not return there since then. Also was in Jokkmokk. But there will be a next time, never was there in the winter! ❤

Great vid. Such a beautiful place. I hope to do that in my life. Don't let the skeeters eat you this summer.

Great video! I love your content and really want to get back up there to this beautiful part of the world - it‘s been nearly 10 years since I hiked up there through Sarek and along the Kungsleden and I‘ve never seen it in Winter. What a different landscape with all the snow and frozen lakes.

How does your collie know where to go?
  • Hej Matti, hur är legitt? Unfortunately my English is a holy shit (I understand much more than I am able to talk), and my Swedish is even more worse 😂, but I like your Videos very much! All the Best, Stephan from Cologne
