    Thank you so much for this. Exactly what I needed to learn about. There are other tuts on custom fields, but none of those shows how you can instantiate a field within the php code for a page. So this opens up for all kinds of magic that you wont have if you just pour in your custom fields into a new post type. Liked and subbed!
