  • So sad, he left us so soon! I was only 19 back in 1973, On that September night it came over the car radio. I was in disbelief.. I know he's in Heaven with the others who lost their lives on that plane. And Like Jim, his music is eternal! 🧡🕊🕊⛪⛪✝✝🥰
  • @Dooklawz
Although Jim did not write this song, pretty certain we'd all agree that he most definitely owned it with his vocals.
  • @jhamptonjr
That's actually Jim's partner Maury Mulheisan playing that acoustic lead. His acoustic leads and his backing vocals work a big part of Jim's music. And they died together.
  • Jim died the day before this song was released on September 20, 1973, almost 50 years ago at age 30! RIP 😢

Don’t get tired of Jim. Another great message song is “I’ll Have To Say I Love You In A Song”.
  • You don’t get better than Jim Croce. The ultimate singer songwriter.
  • Daniel, Jim Croce, like John Denver, James Taylor, Neil Diamond, Joan Baez and so many others in the 70's were some of the greatest songwriters and singers we might have ever heard. I hope you continue down this awesome road. And keep these songs and singers alive through their music to the next generation and all generations afterward. Peace.

So talented, sad he past away young! RIP Jim Croce!
  • Croce, Chapin, both legendary, now it's time to sample a little bit of John Denver. You won't be disappointed.

I'm an old man but I remember being a young teen one Sunday morning in September of 1974 when I heard that Croce died in a plane crash. Just think of the music we all missed out on.

The first note, the first word, you know its Jim! His stuff is so damn tight and emotional. Classic voice!! So glad a young guy can appreciate it.

Jim contributed highly to the zeitgeist/mood during the early '70's when I was a young longhair in junior high...

Jim left us on 9/20/73. Terrible loss, still felt today.

Another awesome driving song, summer day, windows down, breeze in your hair and singing loud with the radio. Love it, Classics warm my heart. Thanx D

I was about your age when I first heard Jim Croce. I wish I could say I appreciated all his lyrics for what they were then. They become more poignant as I get older. He was a lyrical genius. RIP.

"If you're going my way, I'll go w you". Great line. Two words for you when it comes to Jim Croce. Lovers Cross. Sooo good.
