New York City Mayor Eric Adams and other officials provided an update Friday on the city's response to the reported widespread outage on systems relying on Microsoft 365 apps. The issue was caused by a technical problem that global cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said it had identified in its software and was working to resolve. Banks, airlines, television networks and health systems around the world were impacted.

Meanwhile in Texas, we still have power outages from a Hurricaine that happened two weeks ago. But at least our Governor returned last week from his vacation in Asia.... and then... went right to Wisconsin for the convention....
  • Matthew C. Fraser is quite the clear, concise, and well-spoken Chief Technology Officer for the city of NY. Kudos for keeping cool and calm under this type of pressure! 👏😀

Obviously it’s Software Update Policy quality. Critical systems should be tested, wait, approved before deployment to production in large scale. SLA is poorly signed. CIOs should be fired.

Network outages began here on the west coast three days ago. The sun has been emitting strong magnetic storms which could also be adding to corrupted code issues. Too many things are computer controlled these days anyway. Time to break out the pens and paper !

Bill needs to focus on his software rather than buying up millions of acres of farmland to control food production.
