Full episode of 'Life in Six Strings Powered by Music Drives us'. We kick with Def Leppard's Phil Collen where I travel to his home in Laguna Beach to meet him on the beach at 6am, which is how he likes to start his day to help the creative process. I check out his guitar collection and he takes me to the Fender factory to see his new signature Jackson guitar being made. This is all concluded with Phil showing me how to play the Def Leppard track 'Photograph'.

Life in Six Strings is powdered by the charity 'Music Drives Us' which gives the gift of music to under privileged children.

  • The amazing Phil Collen. Such a wonderful blessing and a positive inspiration to so many people around the world, including me. ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
  • Who doesn't love Phil Collen? Just an absolute Gem of a human being, never mind the guitar playing! Him and all the other guys in Def Leppard, just love 'em to bits. Best band in the world. Thank You Kylie!
  • Phil has achieved a level of world wide fame, fortune, and success that 99.5% of the people in the world could only dream about. The man has more money than his grandkids could ever spend, but he is one of the most polite, respectful and humble human beings you will ever meet. Incredibly talented, respectful, polite and well represented. A lot of very good values and lessons we could all learn from here.
  • I used to run into him and his wife occasionally when I lived in Laguna Beach--he was always pleasant and down to earth

He’s an absolute class act, I wanted to see his solo band when I was 18 and the venue was 21+ and he invited my younger brother and I to come down and watch them do sound check, then he came and sat with us at a table, signed stuff and just talked with us, once in a lifetime experience!

I bought my first Jackson because of Phil Collen! He just keep working!!!! The surviving half of the Terror Twins. A hall of fame Rockstar and a Father!

What an excellent choice of Shirt Phil... R.I.P. Eddie
  • “It never ceases to be exciting”. I loved when Phil said that. It’s 100% true. What an awesome video.
  • I live up pch from Laguna Beach and let me tell you., Phil C has it made. The area is beautiful, totally unattainable, but has so much creative magic in that town. He's so humble and easy going for being one of the biggest rock stars around. That's very cool. Kudos to him and great interview Kylie. Thanks.
  • I have always loved def Lepp since my early teen years. Was around 12,13 when I first saw them on mtv. Till this very day they are still my favorite band. I am so blessed that I got to see them back in 2005 and was at the front of the stage. Phil played directly in front of me the entire show. I kept giving him the guitar strum motion as to say “can I have a pick?” After his amazing solo, he tossed it right to us and don’t ask me how I caught it. Everyone around me was like can I see it? I was like hell no lol. I would have never seen it again. I still have it to this day one of his metal picks that he used to play. Will cherish it forever. Thank you Phil. This was a great interview. Def Leppard fan forever ❤❤❤❤❤
  • Great episode! He is a legend with his feet firmly planted on solid ground. A monster player, composer, and performer.

Imagine being Phil's neighbor as he's sitting outside playing his guitar.. I only saw Def Leppard once and it was truly amazing!!
  • @WPOrion
One of my absolute faves! Phil Collen!! Love the show, Kylie!

Whenever any of the band, but especially Phil talk about Steve I always tear up. Steve was the reason I started playing guitar, he was just so cool With the hair and the clothes and the Les Paul slung around his knees. He was a musical genius as well. The band was just never the same without him.
  • I always love Phil Collen. At 65 years old, he is super powerful and incredible 😊😊😊
  • @bwm5150
Ah thanks for sharing the full show with us! 😁
  • @AT-bt2co
Thank you for this lovely interview with my favorite guitar player of all time! What an incredible humble beautiful human. I love you, Phil Collen❤
  • I remember three things in my life relating to Def Leppard. I remember where I was when I first heard Pour Some Sugar on Me, which is what led me to buy the album. It was my intro to rock and I've been a rocker/metalhead ever since. I remember the moment I read that Steve Clark had died. I'd been on a training course and it was dark when I got back home. There was a copy of The Sun newspaper on the kitchen table and down the left side of the front page was a small column announcing the news. And I remember what made me want to pick up the guitar. Watching Steve Clark throwing his Les Paul around on the In The Round video. The thing about Def Leppard is that they've all come from humble beginnings and that's given them an appreciation for who they are and what they've achieved without having these massive egos that some people in their position have.
  • Ms Olson this was an amazing experience with an even greater musician and man that you shared with us. Thank you so much for this trip to the Fender/Jackson home where all the best guitars are made!!
