According to the official story, a shepherd lost his goat and stumbled across the cave in 1960. However, legend has it that the space has been used for centuries as an escape route and hiding spot for people fleeing trouble.
*: Ridley Scott’s film “Alien” gave audiences one of the scariest space monsters in movie history 😱

Wow, what an amazing Cave in Oman, it's very beautiful. Love the story about the shepherd loosing his sheep & finding the cave. Shame the train wasn't working. Thanks Jack for sharing. Paulo & Kathy GB. 👍💞🙏🤗

From the stalactites and stalagmites you can tell how old this territory and cave is. Great tour my friend.

Wow, your adventure to Aluta Cave sounds like a mix of a wild goose chase and a hidden gem discovery, hehe! The road less traveled indeed brings us to the most unexpected wonders! The part about the dinosaur head with the sound effects? Classic! It's like stepping into a scene from an adventure movie, minus the need for Sigourney Weaver's necessary appearance, hehe! Thanks for the adventure, Michael!

I wasn't expecting it to look so good on the inside from the outside. Certainly very "Alien" like. Reminded me of the Postojna Cave in Slovenia 👍

Interesting caves, They've done a good job building inside. All set for the tourist. Finding things in maintenance is what happens to us often. Well done👍👍

We enjoyed the cave tour, Michael. They're the hardest things to film with the lighting, but this is great footage! You remember more than just Sigourney Weavers, err you know, popping up in the Alien movies? 🤣🤣 Just kidding. Fun movies! 👽👽Loved the cave tour and info on how caves and this cave was formed!

That was some size inside the cave and a nice walkway so you could enjoy it with the fear of slipping. Ten years to dissolve 10mm of rock and water created all of that cave - mind blowing! Surprised it was not a more popular attraction, I think it is amazing. Shame you could not get on the train at the end, cheers Alan
