I will never understand when a man says he always felt like a girl or when a girl says she always felt like a boy. How can either possibly know what it actually feels like to be the other. I have 4 brothers and my dad and as much as I was a tomboy, playing with my brothers and their friends growing up I know I hadn't a clue what it feels like to be a boy. He says being a woman is easier. I think he's thinking about his current life as a male and then adding feminine gestures to his body like a costume. There's no way to understand the female experience and its challenges unless you've lived it. I'm sure that's true for being male too.

I used to know a man with body integrity disorder, lived a couple doors along from me. He had both legs amputated below the knee, at his request. In the UK. He passed away a few years ago. I always looked at him with a level of disdain because I'm a double below knee amputee too. I lost my legs through an accident and was never the same and the thought of going through this misery voluntarily was absolutely insane. I still cant comprehend what the surgeon was thinking about performing that op. just nuts.
