I turned 40 this year and the last 2 eclipses really changed my outlook on love. Seeing you rush for your wife, that touched my heart.

i was totally expecting this photo to remain a private item due to how special it is to you, and your wife, and your family. And that would have made perfect sense to me. It is so freakin cool of you to offer it to the world like this. So generous and special, I know we all really appreciate it. thank you

I thought that I was an anomaly getting emotional watching that video. But the energy the video brought was so amazing. Thank you so much Destin for the years of entertainment.

Knowing how the picture was made adds context. It allows others to appreciate the challenge involved in creating it, and adds to the beauty of the piece.

This 100% makes Patreon worth it. It's simply an incredible photograph.

Destin, Thanks so much for offering this to non-Patrons. I (47m) was not shy about my emotions watching the revealing of the photo and am thrilled to be able to add it to my office wall - ordered a metal one for myself. And, because I chose poorly and was just north and east of Buffalo w/ my niece (7) for a VERY cloudy eclipse I also ordered a paper 12x12 for her to hang in her bedroom. She was very upset that we didn't get a decent view and her brother (who was further south and west of us with my BIL) did, but I will forever remember the experience with her and my sister. Your channel has inspired a number of gifts to my nieces and nephew over the years and they're turning out to be proper science/space nerds like me. All the best to you and your family.

Destin, As an avid film photographer that came from digital and missed out on my late uncles knowledge of decades, worth the film, photography knowledge I really enjoy everything you do and put out there. I develop all my film in my bathroom. I scan multiple ways as well as looking into modifying cameras from , really awesome engineers who have made amazing things so that we could bring back things such as Polaroids to the RZ 67 for example. I enjoyed your series that you did at the Kodak factory. I thought that was amazing and I am very impressed with your ability to get all of this done, especially on a piece of slide film, knowing how finicky they are. Thanks for everything and I’m looking forward to always seeing your content. If you ever find yourself in the central North Carolina area you’re more than welcome to swing through for some fun and science. Macro(6-7mm on one 35mm slide) on film is hard and I’m working on that but would love to show you some things in progress. Keep at it. -ae

I'm so excited to get one of these prints, already ordered!! I got to experience the eclipse with my Family and I'll be gifting it to my Dad who hosted our watch party for the eclipse. It was such an amazing experience and this metal print is the perfect way to memorialize the event. Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us.
  • @plrpilot
I really hope the national archives will accept this into their collection. This photo is a national treasure. I love your excitement and enthusiasm!
  • @CoordinatedCarry
Thank you for offering to sell these. I bought the metal one. Your photo was taken 15 min from where we watched the eclipse. Thank you so much!
  • @TomJeffreyJr
Thank you Destin for making this incredible image available to us. As a result of your post leading up to the eclipse I arranged a watch party at my friend’s house in Waxahachie Texas, directly in path of totality. What an amazing event. I have ordered metal prints for all the families involved in our little event. God bless you and the work you do in our behalf! 🙏☦️
  • I used to develop film for small business in Huntsville in 2002-2003 and honestly it just made me happy to see actual film being used. Truly makes me long for those days, it may have been my favorite job ever.
  • @DavidRamirez-pdx
I paused the video at 0:54 and ordered the print to my home in Germany. THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing this and making it available for everyone to enjoy in our homes. I hope this helps my kids get excited about Solar Eclipses and Astronomy as a whole!
  • @spazc
The video on the main channel 1000% made me and my family feel things. Thanks to your videos I got my parents and my father in law all to road trip to Arkansas from Birmingham with me and my 5 year old. It was a great memory for all of us that we got to share with my son / their grandson. I already ordered 3 of the metal prints last night after the patreon post hit. One for my parents, one for my father in law and one for my son. When we see that picture it immediately takes us back to that moment of seeing totality together. Thank you for what you do, both for science and the Kingdom.

Destin, thank you so much for caring about your fans. You're the best!

I didn't comment on the previous video, but I too got emotional while watching it. In fact, your video about the eclipse back in 2017 is what lead me to go out of my way to see the eclipse in 2017 & again, this year, in 2024. I got some of my own photos that I love but I'd also love to get a copy from the guy that sparked my excitement for the eclipse in the first place. Thank you for making this available to everyone
