I put this on in the background to work to, thinking it would be a typical sitar concert.  Oh My God-dess!  I can't work now, this mastery demands my full attention.  Just, wow!  This is among the Highest class of music in the world.

she has the skill of her father... but her creativity is unmatched... mixing musics like this is incredible... this entire album is awesome
  • I cannot stop marveling at how deeply talented, graceful and beautiful Anoushka is. Her serene countenance reflects the internal peace and content that her music bestows her with ! I am not saying that everything in her life is picture perfect, she must have her own battles. But there is something incredibly soothing about how she carries herself, how she speaks and how she performs. Her music is not short of a prayer !

sadly India is forgetting our rich cultural heritage and traditions.....we must preserve it and return to vedas....kudos Anuska shankar for protraying Indian classical music...!!
  • Her blending of Flamenco and Classic Indian is synergystic; it is way more the sum of it's parts. Fantastic!

Anoushka is so good. A worthy successor to her father in exploring the wonderful combination of East and West.

I'm really enjoying seeing how culturally diverse the commenters are, on this video. I guess it is one of the purpose of fusion music, bringing us all together!

Amazing. These music is a real religious experience, a very mystical sound. Music is my religion. Music is god's language. Blesses from MEXICO!

Those would have been great days in ancient India when classical dancers danced in courtyards of temples on these heavenly tunes. Those were the days when Indian classical music and different dance forms flourished.
  • One of the most beautiful things truly To happen to our generation I love you Anoushka

Whoever filmed this show is a genius! The natural response would be to focus almost entirely on Shankar because she is so beautiful and incredibly talented. However the film zeros in on the fingers playing the instruments, and truly captures the joy and interaction of the musicians in a way that so few concert films manage to do!

I was at this concert. I remember being dumbfounded by this amazing performance. I didn't know Anoushka Shankar at that time. Now I regularly listen to her, she is mesmerizing.
