Next time, dip the fillets in a beaten egg before putting the batter on. Makes a huge difference. Also, try Shore Lunch batter.

One thing I was shown by my dad a long time ago is to always carry a knife sharpener . Even a simple samurai sharpener or any "v" style carbide sharpener works well.
