I found Melanie’s music when I was like 9 and I cried so much my parents called me a crybaby πŸ’€ I listened to crybaby and it was really comforting after that I just became obsessed with her music

I found out about Melanie when it was still the K-12 era, but i stopped suddenly... Then Melanie got recommended to me so, i listened to her songs, it was so accurate to most of my traumatic experience.. So i never listened to the tiktok recommendations, Then portals came All i can say that I used to be a crybaby and now i began to see the world as something that drags you down, only you can help yourself and accept what you are.

I got into Melanie when she released the video for Dollhouse. That was so long ago. She's the first artist I ever "stanned", and I'm pretty consistent with the things I fixate on, so still a big fan, lol.

I'm a Korean who loves Melanie. When I was 8 years old, I happened to watch Melanie's "Dollhouse" music video on YouTube, and ever since then, I've been a fan of Melanie. She has become a part of my life, and whenever I faced teasing or hurtful words at school, Melanie always brought light into my life. I can't imagine a world without Melanie.

[note, this is long] in 2012ish, i heard about a girl called melanie martinez from the voice. i didnt think much about it since i was five. I was too busy about figuring out the world around me while having a sensitive heart my friends at the time were really into lps videos on youtube. coincidentally, melanie had a huge audience in that genre. thats when i started listening to her music. for one of the first times in my life, i felt seen. when I was 10, I used to avoid the mad hatter video when it was first posted cuz it was really scary to me. 9 months later, I grew some guts to watch it and then it was my favorite song from her for a while. oh, and playdate used to be UNDERRATED before it blew up in 2020 Once K12 came out ,I was so excited to see a new side of crybaby. I'd watch the film and listen to the album 24/7. It was very convenient because I was just starting my first year of middle school at the time. Over the years, I began to notice who and what was right for me, I started to step out of my shell to the right people. Now a sophomore in high school with portals coming out, I'm proud to not only have been a crybaby, but now an earthling. I'm so proud of her progress, both spiritually and talent-wise. Mel will always be apart of me. Thanks mel for letting us feel seen <33 [mb if this is a little long]

My friend started listening when she was six or something, she’s almost fourteen. I started listening at a young age also and it was cause her. We had so much fun at her concert a few weeks ago :)

I grew up on playdate and mrs potato head and mostly just crybaby in general and it gives a lot of nostalgia just listening to it, and it’s my comfort album, obviously Mel has moved on from crybaby with portals completing the trilogy and I miss it, but I feel terrible about that because she’s discovering new ways to express herself and that’s amazing! I just don’t want be one of those fans that’s mad about Mel moving on but at the same time I can’t help it.

listening since late 2015 or early 2016? somewhere around that time. first song i heard from her was pity party, cuz i rlly liked mlp at the time (i was 9 lmfao) and i was watching a pmv of that one episode where pinkie goes insane.. i remember the 2nd song i heard from her was teddy bear, & i listened to it all the time but i was scared to sleep with my feet out of the covers cuz i thought one of my toys would climb out of the toy box, head to the kitchen & get a knife, come back to the bedroom, & stab one of my feet. i was maddd dumb πŸ’€
  • I used to be such a huge fan in 2018-2019 of her then just stopped idk why but now I wanna listen to her again
  • @jeonginbbang
i think i came across her k-12 film and watched it since i've watched her 'detention' mv before. I really liked her since her music talked about real-life problems which music artists dont really mention about and i found her lyrics uniquely expressive and meaningful :)

I always loved Melanie Martinez as a kid. I was only 7 when I started listening to her crybaby playlist. She made crybaby and after my dad "teased" me about being a crybaby I found the crybaby song and somehow I stopped crying and started to sing along when I repeated it over and over. Thank you so much for making this playlist it makes me very happy to hear this many times but I'm still addicted to it. ❀
