I still love the idea that the moment Gannondorf transformed into Gannon is when the time line split. All three pieces were active, Gannon wishing to kill Link, Link wishing to save Hyrule from Gannon's reign, and Zelda wishing they hadn't let him come to power in the first place, so now the infinite power of the gods is trying to make three mutually exclusive things happen at once, and the timeline splits

I love the subtle detail of Link having a reflection in the water when he first enters the room that vanishes when he crosses the island and then both Link's have no reflections at this point and that Dark Link starts off shadow like being more cautious/curious/innocent but grows more enraged and aggressive with each attack from Link.
  • Ganondorf asking for the Zora Sapphire is very awkward when you remember that it's the same as asking for a child Ruto's hand in marriage.

Tbh, there is probably a possibility that Twinrova is Ganondorf’s mother, and Kotake + Kaome are his sarrogate mothers since they are technically his mothers but not fully.

Bosses don’t come out of nowhere, all evil must at least come from something
  • Your theory for Bongo Bongo is honestly genius dude what a hot take It would explain both the Dead Hand's hands and Bongo's hands and their elongated/ chopped heads and necks if those were a common method of torture the Sheikah employed It makes a horrifying amount of sense
  • Theory about Bongo Bongo: The man who's house stood where the well was became an early "poe" BB, which then fed off the spirits of the dead in the well to grow and mutate into that massive form. It's kind of like how Jalhalla from WW himself is his own entity (the mask), but his body is made of his poe minions.

Ganon being a transformation brought on by Demise's curse could explain why Ganondorf is a thing even though we supposedly dealt with Ganon already.

Three Words: Giant. Dead. Dodongo. I want to fight THAT thing when it was still alive. Also wanna fight Volvagia back when the Megaton Hammer was originally used to defeat him.
  • in the manga Link bought Volvagia from a merchant and was his pet so when he has to fight in temple it;s very sad
  • "Don't lie to me, I know you have TikTok." Me: I'm not lying when I say that I don't have TikTok
  • Everyone’s talking about how we could see more of the Zonai tribe in BOTW2, but I personally hope we get to see more of the mysterious/creepy side of the Sheikah. I love what breath of the wild did with them, but in that game they don’t really embody the whole ‘shadow tribe’ thing that they’re known for. TLDR: more creepy torture chambers please!

Adding to your bongo bongo theory, the spirit pretty clearly goes after sheik. A sheika, like the people that captured and tortured the spirits. So vengeful spirits makes alot of sense there

3:31 - Those first three dungeons all happen in living (or once living) creatures. You have the Inside the Great Deku Tree, Dodongo's Cavern, and Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly. That's not just a reference to the Dodongo skull in the back of the central room, it's also a reference to the fact that the ceiling is made of a giant *ribcage*. I think I heard that in the, "A Masterclass in Subtext" video on YouTube. And that's a REALLY cool detail to notice... except that... did that Dodongo skull on the back wall die with his head up another Dodongo's ass?

In the German version Navi even says about Dark Link: "Besiege deine Schwarze Seele" Literal Translation: "Defeat your black soul" And THIS sounds pretty much interesting
  • I've been in a Legend of Zelda D&D campaign for over a year now, and it's a convergence of a post-BOTW and an OOT past, and so many of these theories match our story which is SO FUN! Like Deadhand was the product of a mad Yiga scientist in a lab in Kakariko's well who fused with his Sheikah subjects and was made of so many people. Great video!

Gotta give credit; I had never really considered the dark link fight as a trial built into the place by the Zora. Even my old ass that played the game at release learned something new.
