Yes they should be arrest by stopping the cruise ship entering the port .
  • Last year on our fall foliage tour to Canada, every Canadian port told us they welcome cruisers. We were told they were happy to have us. I’m looking to do more in Canada with this attitude. ❤️
  • I’ve never been a fan of Private Islands, however with so many ports turning cruise ships I say build more. Let the ports pay the cruise lines for their business.

My parents are on the Voyager currently and told me about being blocked from the port by protestors. I figured they meant the dock was blocked by protesters, not that actual boats were blocking the port entrance. If they had not been able to stop and damaged the ship and my parents were hurt I would be first in line to start throwing dog shit on the French embassy.

The Orkney Islands love having us! They were so happy and did such nice walking tours. We even were able to listen to a Scottish concert in one of the churches and it was so lovely.

Inequality? They owned boats to block it with, no? I don’t own a boat. That’s not fair. What a bunch of hypocrites!
  • @cindyonyoutube
It's very sad that the "authorities" allowed this to happen.

They have boats? I don't have a boat. I say that must be social inequality!

Quit building mega ships! Viking is doing the right thing with 995 passenger new ships.🚢

Sadly looks like more & more ports will be limiting tourism & higher cost passed on to guests. Cruiselines should take heed & stop building more & bigger ships

I agree. Where were the police? And if the Regent 7 Seas ship couldn't stop in time and a protester's ship was hit, whoa, they'd blame the cruise line for that too .

I am a firm believer in voting with my feet. If I'm not welcome, I go somewhere else. I see no reason to argue. They dug the hole, now they have to live in it.

Somebody will get hurt if they try to block one of the bigger ships.
  • Sorry to hear this. Bigger is not always better. Smaller ships, less people, but the cruise companies may just start building their own private islands or get the US to allow cruises to nowhere 😮

Overtourism from cruise ships blocks access dramatically in small towns. Ambulances and fire trucks are impeded from travel. Cruise passengers in Juneau fill the city bus for a cheaper ride to near the Mendenhall Glacier, lining up at the first stop of the bus and resulting in residents who rely on city bus service for the basic transportation to work, medical appointments, pick up children from childcare, etc. to be denied boarding as the bus is already completely full of cruise passengers. The situation is not just locals blocking cruise and more typically is cruise blocking and displacing locals. If you would ever like to understand more how your love of cruising and cruising's forcing themselves onto communities on their terms, with threats of lawsuits if communities attempt to push back, goes down from a community perspective reach out.

They should be charged and arrested! They don’t have the right to block the cruise ship!!!!!
