Do people even like what they buy if they stop wearing shit because it's not popular anymore? People need to buy what they like instead of being caught up in the hype. There's a reason why the 3 piece suit will never go out of style
  • @treyzreaper
New Balance has become a niche now and I'm here for it!!! So happy that I can wear my 990s without it getting recognized as a hype item.
  • @dohmygoodness
Underwear trend is still going on. At least in my house.
  • @graemejones2061
I read a quote from Karl Lagerfeld,.. Trendy is the last stage before Tacky .., He really was a legend
  • @Junkdrawer33
Also, i think a big reason the sneaker bubble popped is just that people got sick of resellers. Bots buying out every drop and being forced to pay a premium on resale ruined sneaker culture.

New Balance 99-series is timeless, it has stood the test of time. Whether your style is Ivy or Outdoor, New Balance will always be appropriate in almost any style, especially after the 2020 pandemic.

Thinking of fluctuating trends reminds me how much they either exist online , or in specific cities/regions.
  • @bongwater..
I think a lot of us are being less trendy at the same time cuz that shit is too expensive these days

These "gropcore" people should realize that proper technical outerwear is actually something that lasts you a lifetime and you dont need 10 different shelljackets. Positive outcome of gorpcore is that people actually went outside to wear them on hikes etc

16-29 year olds on social media don’t define what “trend” is. We each individually define trend. What you run with daily is your trend. Your closet can be filled with things that publicly trended at one time or another. Wearing clothes is like listening to music. The closet is the playlist. We go back to old songs whenever we feel nostalgic. And sometimes we wear things that are current. But young people don’t define what is “cool”. They, of all people, have the least wisdom on this earth. Fashion is both an aesthetic and a functionality.
  • I always felt that those who are fly or have a good eye for fashion dnt follow trends. Style is suppose to display your personality. that’s what makes you fly in my eyes. If you follow trends of the masses what does that make you ? A sheep ? Wear what u like, buy what u like. Don’t follow agendas and trends of others. Rather stick out then blend in when it comes to style.

Honestly I feel all of these are still alive, especially New Balances. Crazy popular still and hyped, but it’s decentralized in terms of models. As well as sneaker culture as a whole, just as you said with shell jackets, I think people that really are into the stuff are thriving and people who weren’t only hopping on because of popularity have moved on. Feels more natural.

Personaly I was never a part of gorpcore. Still I am actually sad about the trend dying because I thought it resembled a development of the zeitgeist towards more appreciation for longevity, good quality and therefore sustainability
  • @Bev-ish
Theme of the video: Trends die but not in places where they’re the most organic. 👌🏽
  • @Azurielm
I definitely still judge people if they wear Balenciaga.
  • Samba’s and Gazelles have always been popular. You’re missing out on the 1906, 990v6 and the 991v2; all are killing it this year.
  • @danielwright568
I'm not so sure about New Balance dying off. I would say if anything it's gotten more popular than ever. Maybe this is not the best metric to measure this by, but when I joined the New Balance Subreddit at the end of 2022 it had about 30k members, now in 2024 it's pushing almost 300k. Collabs and GRs alike sell out instantly these days.
  • drew you are sweet but aggressively misuse words and phrases lol, like that is not what "bearing witness" means
