On Friday, April 8 at 11:17 a.m. ET, Falcon 9 launched Axiom Space’s Ax-1 mission, Dragon’s fifth human spaceflight to the International Space Station, from historic Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on the droneship, A Shortfall of Gravitas, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Axiom Space’s Ax-1 mission is the first all-private human spaceflight mission to the International Space Station. The Ax-1 crew will participate in educational outreach and conduct innovative research experiments while on the orbiting laboratory.

Live webcast coverage will resume approximately two hours before docking, which is targeted for 7:45 a.m. ET (11:45 UTC) on Saturday, April 9. Follow Dragon and the Ax-1 astronauts’ flight to the International Space Station below.

Don’t know how many of these I’ve watched but still every time that thing lands it makes me smile and restores my faith in humanity and what is possible when people get together to challenge the status quo

I LOVE that uninterrupted onboard camera feed as stage 1 returns. Smooth video and just a perfect landing.

To see see so many history-making launches so frequently.... What a time to be alive! I look forward to seeing what the future holds for space travel. The present is already so awesome!
  • When the first stage landed I had big grin on my face. I still just can't believe that this works and has already worked several times... Unbelievable! Congratulations to all people involved in this project!!!
  • Fist stage landing footage is the best. Two cameras not lagging at all. Thanks SpaceX. From Russia with respect to all of you who are making history and push the boundaries. I am against any war. Peace and creativity is the way to go.
  • Isn't it an awesome thing when a company is so driven and kicking ass so much that we see this kinda thing a lot

This will never get old to me. They travel 200 km in 6min. They bring back their rocket to exactly where they want it.

This is one of those times the video transmission of 1st stage landing wasn't cut off. Its one of my favorite portions of the show. This time it didn't disappoint.

I've lost the amount of times I've watched this. The whole thing is so incredible to watch and to learn about all the processes/procedures involved. The first landing was beautifully done and loved how it was at the same time the crew went into orbit. I also loved how the whole crew seemed so relaxed as they went to the launch pad.... smiling and dancing outside!
