I totally agree with everything you are saying but I don't think that GPT 5 will be a walk in the park. I really think that the level that GPT 5 will be at, alot of Open Source LLMs will phase out of existence. Just call it Thanos snapping his fingers...

Hopefully they vet the sources better than Perplexity. I've gotten results based on arguments that happened on tech forums over 15 years ago. Both sides were presented in the argument but Perplexity only used information that it was aligned with to support it's own bias.
