Matt Rife has been under a lot of scrutiny after jokes made about domestic abuse during his stand up comedy special. Most of the criticism seems to have come from people outside of the comedy world, but this is what comedians had to say about the Matt Rife drama, including Joe Rogan, Mark Normand, Sam Morril, Stavros Halkias, Andrew Schulz, Akaash Singh, Tim Dillon, Luis J Gomez, Nick Mullen, Adam Carolla, Josh Wolf, Erik Griffin, and more! Thanks for watching!

  • Matt's "apology" link was the best punchline of the special 🤣🤣
  • @sarab9344
I’m a domestic violence survivor-I laughed at the joke! I used to do standup comedy! You can’t cancel a comedian on every joke you don’t agree with or every comedian would be cancelled!
  • @seanclements6206
The answer to his question with Jordan Peterson is "absurdism"
  • @nolaquev
Matt's talent is working the crowd not stand up in a big theatre
  • @angelahounschell
I'm a "DV survivor" and I don't mind jokes about it. I agree with what Josh Wolf said - laughing about it is part of healing for a lot of us. I HAVE to laugh at the bad shit I've been through, it's how I keep control over it.
  • The only real controversy here is that he's so popular with no good jokes.
  • @Karynthian
Everybody knew a portion of his audience had no experience in comedy. Surely now he'll just strengthen his core fan base and continue growing as long as he doesn't apologize.
  • @bender8784
Josh Wolf is 100% of the time the realest dude in the room
  • @ReeWebster
He may as well have said, “pls give me different attention,” and everyone just obliged. 😂
  • @chipgarrett3139
It would be different if he actually got arrested for domestic violence, but damn just dont listen if it bothers you.
  • @shaneschnyer7817
This is exactly what Matt wanted. Publicity and to alienate his female audience witch he no longer wants to be associated with.
  • @frodiboonsatchel
The special needs helmet rebuttal is better than the original joke to be fair
  • @increase9896
shulz looks absolutely insane. when is he gonna cut it out with that absurd facial setup?
  • @RonCadillac
Not the biggest Rife fan, but i think he knew what he was doing, making a controversial, edgy joke as an opener. It set the stage for the rest of the special.
  • @RonCadillac
Mark Normand is the current KING of approaching offensive topics, making people laugh, without coming across as offensive or mean.
  • @Mattchu44
His crowd work is funny, his standup is okay. I think he’d be a great talk show host or something similar.
  • @coal-in-my-hole
When I see things I don’t like I think ‘that’s not for me’ and then I move on with my life. Apparently that’s a special skill now. If Maron doesn’t think Rife is funny that’s fine but try not to shit your pants about it. Stay calm, move on.

Lets be real, true comedy fans wouldn’t get upset over a joke. Period.
