You never know what—or who—you’ll run into In the Aisles. In this episode, Derek from Vice Grip Garage talks to “Jackstand Jimmy”—mechanic, builder, drag racer and burnout connoisseur James Taal. James talks about his first experience as a fourteen-year-old racing his dad’s ’64 Chevy Nova, his suggestions on how to get into racing if you’re not already, and how he would absolutely never drive a Prius—even if it were given to him—except to drive it straight into the ocean.

Vice Grip Garage has been gracin’ the interwebs since 2019 and has persuaded countless clunkers to run over years. Maybe only half of ‘em had brakes (and that’s being generous). Derek focuses on budget builds, rescues, and how to's for the common folk. From classic cars to tractors Derek has been there and driven it home 600 miles.

James and Garret act like they are brothers. They pick on each other, they inspire each other, they taunt and push each other to do better, they make stuff up's together and then learn to fix it together and they have each other's back. I just hope life is kind to them both and the get to be Bro's forever!

Jack Stand needs his own podcast. He has so much knowledge to share with young guys looking to turn wrenches and go racing. I could listen to him all day.

This is probably the best 'talk show' an auto parts supplier could ever host! I've been following Derek and James both for several years now on their respective channels, and to see these two together talking shop has been the highlight of my day!! Great stuff you guys!😄👍

Wow! Thank you Derek,, AND James. Many of these questions are questions many of us have wondered. We were introduced to James by following our buddy Cleetus and know he's one sharp hotrod wrench and pilot. Thank you both,, this was AWESOME!!
