  • So call this self indulgent or whatever you like but I have been shared this video so many times and other and thought I could clarify a few things: - I am not an actor, I'm a regular guy from Halifax, who now works in a law firm doing an open university degree. - I applied for the show, went for various background checks and everything else that comes with it. - I was the third person on fastest finger first so wasn't "chosen" to sit in the chair. - This question was my 12th question and as the next question shows I had the knowledge. - Yes it was an extremely fortuitous stroke of luck on that question, but so was the Lightning seeds question, as I was listening to them in the car on my way over, surely they didn't know that too? - As soon as I was in the green room the first thing told to me was that you are going to be questioned on this and people will claim cheating also, however the question setter is independent and doesn't even know who gets the questions, it just so happened to be that I was the first person on the week to get to that question. - Yes my prosthetic is bionic, yes the joke was funny, yes I laughed, no I'm not offended. - The tattoo was meant to break the walls, yes it's comedic, but as most disabled people can attest there is nothing worse than staring and not asking, the tattoo was meant as, if you can laugh then I'm comfortable about talking about it.

This dude really just had a protagonist moment where his tragic backstory happened exactly in the place that he needed to know in the present day conflict.

This reminds me a story of a Liverpool fan who lost a leg with a tattoo of the LFC badge with the "You'll never walk alone" moniker, but it was amputated in such a way that the word "alone" was removed, while leaving the rest still intact enough to be legible, so it just said "You'll never walk".
  • @pseudohippie55
"Not in the castle, calm down". Now I'm imagining his leg got chopped off by the executioner's axe, and I'm laughing too hard lmao.
  • @mikeriordan6940
He's got a good sense of humour, losing a leg, well done, you don't get your leg back but £125 grand will help you out
  • @tomhope4613
Was waiting for Jeremy to say sorry it’s not Loch Ness then say I’m only pulling your leg

I love this mans mentality, how to laugh in the face of adversity. If anyone deserved some good luck in his life its this guy. Love the way Clarkson had banter with him and he laughed along with him.
  • @abyss18
1:41 you can see the small smile come across his face as he hears the question, brilliant
  • @Tmb1112
This is like that clip of the reporters asking if the old man had seen some random soccer match from 60 years ago, and the guy was like “Yeah, I was the goalie. I’m Tommy!” 😂
  • @stephjovi
Nessie ate his leg? 😱. That's the story I'd tell everyone if I lost my leg in Inverness
  • @TotallydubbedHD
What a legend. What are the chances of that question coming up too! Sorry to hear about his trauma, but really happy to see his sense of humour, humbleness and fortune come across on TV.
  • @Jayce_Alexander
Humour is often a great way to deal with trauma. That's why humor tends to thrive in even the most tragic and desperate situations. Props to this man. What an absolute champ. Hope he's been enjoying his £125k! Clarkson was great here too.
  • @clay890
Shame about the leg though, seems like a nice dude. Shitty things only seem to happen to nice people, glad something nice has happened for him, 125k is amazing! love things like this
  • @maxski6093
You can see the trauma in his eyes as he was asked that question. But still maintaining the strength to tell others to chill out. Tuff dude bc he still has humor in his soul!
  • So happy for this young man, my Dad lost his leg when he was 17, in an accident at work, he was badly injured & also broke his back, they managed to save one of his legs & he was one of the first people in Britain to have this surgery that uses veins from one leg to save the other, he never let it define him always worked & provided for his family he was a great Father & Grandfather sadly missed by us all.

Was in Malta recently for the Malta darts open, and a guy was playing who had had 2 artificial legs from the knee down and this is 100% genuine his nickname on the back of his dart shirt was " TWO LEGS DOWN" I f##king love that type of humour, good on the guy and I told him so.
  • @johnparton2209
This is brilliant, what a guy. I couldn’t be happier if I won the money myself, good luck mate
  • @benwright6930
Lots of disabled people have this mentality.. Sometimes you have to accept it and have a good laugh, mad respect for this guy ♥️
  • @borislav6561
Love this dude. Glad he pulled through. Loosing a leg is a small price to pay for staying alive. I also respect that he knew when to quit. Even if he would have gotten the answer right. 👏
