Reviews of high quality workwear, boots, and clothing for men to help you own better and own less. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well and allows you to own less and own better.

Once again, Tony From Red Wing in Baton Rouge. Thank you for the fair review! This is a great boot for those people with company subsidies!!! Check out the 2462! Traction tred lite, no moc toe, with the boa system, and 360 degree welt construction!

Ive been wearing these at work every day for about 7 months in florida. Best work boots i have worn.
  • I live in a wet climate and I've had plenty of hiking boots that are genuinely waterproof initially and have literally walked up streams and stayed dry in them. However, they frequently don't remain waterproof as the membrane gets punctured by bits of grit inside the boot. The other caveat is that you have to stop the water going into your boots from the top, either from running down your trousers or splashing over the top of the boot. Then being waterproof stops the water from getting out. I think those are the reasons that people complain that boots with waterproof membrane aren't waterproof as well as not realising that often the moisture in their boots is from their feet because, as you point out, breathability is limited.

I’m actually very interested in those boots! The boa system looks good! Another great video

After listening to your last “Coffee With Carl” episode you mentioned making videos like Planet Earth, now I can’t keep my mind from changing your voice to David Attenborough’s 😂

If you like the BOA and the Traction Tree Lite, check out the RW 2462 its the BOA traction tred lite and its a round toe, which has the benefit of not having the stitching go out, as well as its still completely resoleable with a leather welt; they are so nice!!
  • Breathability is as much an issue as it is with all other leather shoes. What will make the difference is, how much humidity the lining/leather is able to absorb and how fast it gets dry again.

Can you do a review of the Ciano Farmer Denim field jacket and Tin Duck Denim trucker? I know that you briefly mentioned them in one of your video.

I would love to see a review of the Matterhorn Corvus 8" Comp toe. It's CSA compliant, resoleable, AND under 250$ after tax. It also has a replaceable leather toe cap, if it's actually decent leather it could be one of the best deals around right now, when you consider cost of ownership over time. I think it looks pretty good, too, but that's just an opinion.

Worn redwing exos. Lites for several months now. Been completely submerged, def waterproof
  • @dongvermine
Looks like a damn ankle monitor for criminals!!!
  • The only complaint I have about these "BootSneakers" is the side Boa Knob it gets stuck every time I am on a Latter right on the side rails and they pop off. I never had that problem with the previous versions where the Boa System is on center..
  • As far as the price goes, you can find shoe stores that discount at least 25%!
  • @xenon1806
Coworker tried the king toe with the BOA... convenient setup but plan on replacing the wires 1-2x per year. They're not nearly as durable as advertised
  • @habl00pep
I liked the ‘booty’ fight club film tribute ……. If you know 😊
