I think Conker does care about Berri, but he takes her and other parts of his normal life for granted, and not knowing "what he had until it was gone." Also, it's funny talking about there being multiple Berris, as that idea was going to be used in the cancelled sequel Conker's Other Bad Fur Day, which would've had cyborg and clone Berris.

I remember reading a funny fan theory somewhere that the reason Berri changed into the taller buxom form was that she simply hit puberty.

Rare really took that "they can only do kiddie family games" criticism personally didn they man lmao

I really want Twelve Tales released in some shape or form. I like Bad Fur Day and its zaniness and mature humor, but I grew up with Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64 and would have liked a classic collect a thon Conker game also.

Critics: they only do kiddy games! Rare: and I took that personally.

I always got the sense that Berri in BFD, regardless of her origins, (which, I honestly wasn't familiar with the previous Conker games, so I didn't have any backstory to fill out in my head) had in Conker a boyfriend of convenience. Given her involvement with the Weasels (and what we know about them in the multiplayer portion of the game), it could have simply been that she needed a cover story to lie low, or something along those lines. On the run from her old boss or trying to get out of the business. Kind of got Marvel's Black Widow vibes going on, the whole honey trap assassin thing.

You should've covered what they released about the cancelled conker sequel. Berri didn't actually die and a lot happens in it.

My theory is that the Evil Acorn canonically got teleported to the Jail Of Rubbish Game Characters, next to Tootie and Brentilda.

Actually.. there was an official 3 episode cartoon called "conker's etiquette guide." There was a female teacher character on the last episode and she looked exactly like berri from conker's bfd her name was "Golria hyman" and at the end of the episode she and conker went to do.. you know what.. and she looked exactly like berri. Which i think the "conker's etiquette guide" happened before the game, which is why berri sounds and looks different

Also I want to just say I love Berri's Bad Fur Day/Live and Reloaded design. Love her character so I really appreciate you making this video. =)

In my opinion it’s a weird misunderstand of the dynamic of Conker and Berri. The hat gag is a joke they go back on later in the game, when she explains to the weasel that yes, Conker is her boyfriend. They work together in the last mission, and Conker is visibly upset when Berri is shot. 100% they’re bad people both ways but they do care for one another and the Bad Fur Day sequel had a a lot to do with both of them.

Interesting. I always headcannoned that they both had alot of problems growing up, one with the evil acorn and other problems too. Like Conker having a hard time fitting in and having some family issues as well. What leads to a long story that leads Conker to drinking and problems with his and Berri's relationship. I have a fanfiction this. Also, Banjo and others of Diddy Kong racing try to help him. They do reunite with him early on. Also, I whole heartedly believe Conker and Berri do care about each other as shown at the end of the game when Berri actually attempts to protect Conker and Conker feeling sad he didn’t bring her back to life when he had the chance and really misses her (he went into TEARS in the Live and Reloaded version when she died in front of him), but the 2 just needed to work out issues in their relationship. Btw, I'm sure Bfd is the way it is bcause the developers love raunchy humor which I think is overhyped these days but I still love the characters.

It's funny how BFD was made in response to critics who said Rare only does squeaky-clean kiddie games. In other words, the critics didn't actually play Banjo-Kazooie, a hilariously irreverent parody of cute and sappy wholesome forest animal cartoons and games. There was alcohol, a drunken pirate, a toilet you could flush yourself down to explore the septic tank, and not to mention Gruntilda and Kazooie made jokes that I'm surprised it still got a PEGI 7 rating. Oh and let's not forget the depressing nightmare fuel that is Clanker's Cavern.

I like to think that as that ar round the time of Pocket Tales, Twelve Tales, and DKR, Conker and Berri were together and then lost contact but then by the time of CBFD, they reconnected and Berri got a fur job, a hair job, and a boob job.

I’ve always wondered about that myself. Even though both characters share the same name, I always wondered why she looked so drastically different in BFD after I played the game for the first time. Great video man. Keep up the good work!

Since seeing that card about Berry on C:L&R I've always thought Berry was a kind of prostitute/scort/call girl but the type that you can also take to a dinner and stuff like that and form some kind of "relationship" besides just sex, although she wouldn't be of the sweet ones; The fact that Conker seems to be the only one who cares while Berry seems to ignore him most of the times and even on at the beginning of the Heist chapter when Don Weaso ask who Conker is Berry just says: "oh he's, like, my boyfriend" in a rather slovenly way while Conker replies with: "yeah, Im her boyfriend..." As if don't even him believes that's the case. Another possibility could be that they're just on a kind of "friends with benefits" relationship that would explain why Berry is still open to be with other men since they're nor exactly a couple yet. Or could be that they're indeed in a relationship and Berry simply doesn't gives a flying fuck and cheats on Conker while he is completely oblivious to that fact and believes she's a loyal and sweet girlfriend. Poor Concuck...
