Did you ever think of any of these? Hope I raised some new thoughts. Wait wait someone said the game tells you their piranhas?! I didn’t remember that at all. My bad! 😣
  • @ukasz8945
I remember piranhas warning us about the water in the swamp, it is propably them eating Banjo's feet

I love that I'm not the only one still obsessed with this classic game in 2024, Been playing it since I was 3 years old on my Dad's N64 (now I play on PC). I even learned how to play some of the music from the levels on piano by ear

I think Bottles is just super nerdy and knows how birds flight works. I'd like to think that if our duo were two different animals, he'd be able to teach them different moves based on their natural animal abilities.
  • Bubblegloop Swamp's water is infested with piranha The first time you are injured by one, it will speak to you. What's interesting to note is it's character icon looks exactly like Bitesize from DKC 1.
  • Tooty living somewhere else does make sense. At the beginning of the game, she's running over TO Banjo's house, and she isn't just hanging out there in future games, so I'd have to guess Banjo's parents live somewhere else. Gruntilda's lair has a few structures in it that seem to imply unseen occupants, like the huts in Mumbo's Mountain and Bubblegloop, the lighthouse and sandcastle in Treasure Trove Cove, and the ring of houses in Freezeeasy Peak.

Here's one for ya: Towards the end of the game, when you have the ability to roam around the transformation room, there is a red lever, in the middle. When you jump on said lever, the camera pans and zooms in, implying further required actions. I do it every playthrough hoping I accidently find a way to pull the kever.

You might be onto something about Bottles being a martial arts master. In the rom-hack "Banjo-Kazooie: Stay At Home", the bear and bird explore worlds from other N64 games. In each world, they find that the boss has already been defeated! Each boss has a note next to their body, each with the same words written on them: "Bottles was here". Although it was by pure chance, it was a galaxy brain move on Gruntilda's part to kill him at the beginning of Tooie. With nothing else to teach Banjo or Kazooie, Bottles would have been free to aid them on their quest directly.

I absolutely love seeing these kinds of videos show up on my feed! These old games have a magic to them that is hard to reproduce, and the way you presented the video was super charming. Keep it up man, can't wait to see what you cover next! Edit: 5:27 Old games had a strange interest in disembodied hands (Zelda alone has the toilet hand, the Wallmasters/Floormaster, Deadhand's army of hands, etc)

Gruntilda was mumbos student?! Thats actually a super cool funfact! Bottles has that nerdy look so im guessing he just knows all that theorie because he read it in books!
  • @Nathando64
I think Mumbo is actually a civilised Grublin. Schna ha ha!

Man, I would love to see Banjo back. Besides Rayman. I actually got a good feeling for both though soon...

The german version of the game actually shows you the Piranhas that bite your feet in Bubblegloop Swamp. The first time you accidentally step into the water they encourage you to keep doing that. Is that not the case in the english version?
  • Dude, it finally dawned on me that Banjo is definitely the WORSE big brother in history. His little sister Tooty lives in the same house, but she has no bed or any separate rooms as her own. Tooty went straight up missing in the sequel without a trace, and the absolute best Banjo has done was post a Missing Person poster and nothing else; he and Kazooie just played cards with the gang. Finally, after many years later, as Tooty was sent to some undisclosed prison confirming she's alive and well, Banjo not once attempted to find her nor dare he utter her name. For a duo that loves adventuring and will search every corner for an obscure shiny object, they didn't even try with Tooty. Banjo wanted her gone.
  • If you watch the film “Migration” the older duck gets his gut filled with Orange and shoots them out like a bazooka. It’s just hilarious and I swear it’s a reference to B-K. Also the water in Bubblegloop Swamp is piranha-infested. If Banjo falls in without the wellies, the first time it happens he gets told to keep out.

Awesome video, I love Banjo games deeply and I’ve been wanting to make my own speculation vids lol. Here’s my opinion on a couple things. I always assumed Nabnut was simply building the treehouse as well as all the plank extensions next to his house. He’d probably want to expand it out just to have more room for stuff, and the treehouse could be for a friend, or just a shed. You could even imagine that Gnawty’s helping with the wood if you want lol. And as for Grabba/the mummy hands, it’s a pretty loose connection but you COULD say it’s a reference/remnant of the Giant, who was the antagonist of the beta version of Banjo. For example the unused map Giant’s Lair has vaguely Gobi’s Valley looking architecture and Grabba’s laugh is the same laugh as heard in the beta track “Giant” It’s probably not an intentional connection, closer to my own headcanon than anything lol.
  • in Banjo's house, WHERE IS THE GOD DAMN BATHROOM!? Also, the whole game, is Grunty just sitting in the machine with Tooty, waiting for Banjo to give up? And then she just got bored or realized that he would not give up, thus leading her to build an large gameshow?
  • @JprimeWorld
I am so high right now bro I love your videos and this is perfect timing
