    “Right around $400” = Right around $500

"But man, a low price covers so many sins." 😂🤣 That line made holler. Thanks Coop, for the thorough review.

This video is exactly why I love this channel. Not all of us are strength gorillas. Or have money to burn. There is no shame in machines like this and you make us feel good about it. Especially for a home gym where very few people will use it. Thanks as always Coop!

I am 85 years old - and workout by myself - and have a smith machine because It is safer for me under the circumstances. My smith machine is something I bought in the LAST century, and it too has tradeoffs, but at least I can still workout. If has been a long time that I needed a 400 pound barbell - but then I am not going to be competing in this century
  • Would love more smith machine reviews in ALL price ranges...THANK YOU FOR THE PHENOMENAL CONTENT!

As someone scoping out smith machines right now, I'd love to see more smith machine reviews and recommendations from GGR, even if it's just on the website or GGR Everything
  • God I hate when products reviewed by Coop are not available in Europe 😢

Can you review the Eleiko Prestera Smith Attachment? Curious to hear another perspective on Smith Machines — not budget.
  • @JHallOnline
Excellent review, Coop. Appreciate the details and your suggestions as well.

Thanks for the review. I would like to see a review of budget leg extension / leg curl rack attachments.
  • @xinjiang7220
Ritfit’s leg press & hack squat machine look good and affordable, will you review this?

After 3 years of coop & learning about gauge steel measurements, guide rods, mounting/finding studs, safety's & the million diy stuff I watched. I now can build one or refurbish a used one if I wanted lool.

Dude thanks for creating gym equipment videos. I built a home gym and am in the best shape of my life. I don't enjoy instructional videos on how to work out on the internet, rather I like equipment videos. I have it on as I'm working out and sometimes I go "oh maybe I can add that to my home gym".

I bought a fit505 multifunctional smith machine about a year ago and have been super happy with it (as beginner). Has smith, uprights for barbell standouts, two cable pulleys for weights (not weight stack), pullup bar, and some storage hooks for weights and attachments. I definitely notice its definitely not as good as a more expensive quality machine but at the price only $1600 canadian including shipping you get alot of value. I'd be curious to see a comparison of these types of machines if you haven't already

I got the RitFit Smith machine + cage off Amazon and love it. No lat pulldown but it uses linear bearings instead of plastic bushings and came with a lot of stuff like safety spotter arms, weight pegs, etc for $700
  • @SelfBuilt
My smith machine is really similar to this. Its a old Weider Pro. I occasionally add lithium grease to the guiding rods and it helps A LOT. Does add the hazard of not wanting to touch the rods.
