My Chronic Lyme Disease Journey PT. 1 | Early Symptoms | Diagnosis

Published 2020-04-16
My journey with Chronic Lyme Disease, Bartonella and Babesiosis. Part One begins with my initial symptoms as a kid, becoming chronically sick at age 17, my move to New York and finally the diagnosis.

My next video will include details on my first appointment with Lyme Specialist, Dr. Liegner, and how my illnesses evolved and worsened as I tried to live as if I were “normal”.

Please comment, ask questions and share your journey too! Xx

Thankyou for making the video. So sad that you had to give up one of your dreams at such a young age. But there will absolutely be other dreams for you 🙏✨ chronic illness makes us appreciate life differently to others that dont or haven't suffered so much, this will give us so much inner strength. You are a strong, intelligent girl, you will be fine and I wish you the best of health now and in the future x
  • So much love to you. My Mums dogs have been a huge support to her. I've recently shared her journey via an interview on my channel.

I have worked in Maine teaching dance at a girl summer camp called Wyonegonic when I was 19. So shout out to Maine!

I love that you collected bottles! 💗

Your story is making me cry. Xxx

My favorites that people assume about me because of my illness. I’m on drugs or making it up.
  • First off, love your accent. I hear it a bit when you speak and it’s adorable. Second off, I cried when you talked about giving up dance in this video. Knowing you since we were littles, I know how much you loved dance and how wonderful you were. Third off, thank you for making this video. I hope you’re well considering and I look forward to more of your videos. 💕

Thank you for sharing your story Kelly. After 10+ years of developing numerous, varied symptoms, I met a Dr, in December 2020, that finally took my concerns regarding Lyme seriously.
I grew up on a semi-agricultural farm in England, and must have been bitten by 30+ ticks at least in my teenage years. I was a kid and was therefore pretty ignorant to the threats these little guys posed! Fast forward to the age of 18 and I'm away at college. I experienced the sudden-onset Obsessive-Compulsive symptoms, depression, confusion, fatigue etc. More recently, since my early/mid-20s, these have developed into morning nausea, peripheral neuropathy, tingling at the extremities, forgetfulness and worsening psychological symptoms!

For so long I've been thinking "something's really wrong!", and now I feel somewhat vindicated having received positive blood tests back from the National Health Service here a few days ago. I suppose now the challenge is to manage/treat the Lyme disease, but also to restructure the understanding I have of my past and what is possible for my future. I had put down my lack of success in professional environments as a result of being lazy or not trying hard enough, when I always felt exhausted!

Hope there is a positive journey ahead for you as well, good luck :)

Thank you for the video. I am experiencing the symptoms of Lyme disease and was wondering what are the best tests at this time for finding out if you have Lyme disease? Please let me know. Thanks, Tony

I’m suffering with Lyme. From Florida also a dancer. Very active mom of 3. Now I have no use of my right hand due to neuropathy from Lyme and I’m a hairstylist. I gained weight during pregnancy but after being sick I’m lost 55 lbs within the first few months of being sick. It seems to be today attacking my lymphatic system,I’m having severe arthritis pain, neurological symptoms especially memory loss & neuropathy in both my hands and feet which is pinched off my radial nerve in my right arm. My family just expects that I’m supposed to get up and go to work every day like I did before this happened eight months ago. Right before I got sick I was going through a separation and I had to move back with my mom at almost 40. And now I’m stuck here because I can no longer work. If you go to my channel you’ll see that I actually even had a YouTube channel that was gaining Subscribers and I really enjoyed making videos but I can no longer function normally because my suffering is so bad and nobody understands. Thank you for sharing this to help others understand. My mom just keeps telling me to go to the doctor and they’ll make it all better for me. But I’ve been on six courses of antibiotics and I’m still just as sick, almost weekly I wake up with new symptoms and new ways to suffer.
