Diver Finds GoPro With Drowning Victim’s Last Moments

In 2017, Richard Ragland was enjoying a day with friends at a Tennessee lake, when he slipped under the water and drowned. Now, diver Rich Aloha has found Ragland’s GoPro camera at the bottom of the lake. The device contained footage of Ragland’s final hours. Aloha reached out to Ragland’s family about the footage. He told Inside Edition, “They were just stunned.” He said, “I don’t think there’s ever been a more impactful find.” #InsideEdition

If I was the parents I almost feel like it would hurt me more to see footage of my fully alive and healthy son, knowing he's dead.

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED: after watching the divers video where he finds the go pro it's apparent that richard swam out to the waterfall, which is deeper than they make it out to be, the diver had to use a flashlight to see because the sunlight didn't penetrate to the bottom, and when richard got under the waterfall it pushed him down and he drowned. In the divers video the waterfall isn't nowhere near as strong as it is in Richard's video. If they would've shown a 3 second clip of the diver resurfacing from under the waterfall in their montage of clips it would have made the incident crystal clear. Hope it helps anyone that is left wondering what happened

Horrible story.. sad to see his final moments. Hope that wasn’t the moment he died in the last clip. Just seems like somebody could of helped him. Not blaming anyone though, tragedy strikes randomly

As soon as I saw his smile on the zip line, my heart sank. What a vibrant young man; he was literally enjoying the prime of his life as he swam with his friends. 💔 I’m so glad the camera wasn’t on during the actual incident
