🇵🇰I have always wanted to travel to mysterious Kafiristan which is nestled in a couple of small valleys in the north of Pakistan. However to reach the northern mountains I would first need to pass through Balochistan, a region of the country that had been fought over for millennia but never quite conquered. In fact just the day before i arrived Iran bombed it. So let's just say, things didn't quite go as expected when I met the Pakistani military...Join me as we cruise the streets of Quetta.

Follow ‪@SimonWilson12‬ and ‪@BackpackerBen‬ for their updates from Pakistan.

Edit: it seems Alexander the Great didn’t go through the Bolan Pass as I thought 😂 F

I am a Pakistani, and i will think twice before visiting these areas in Karachi while holding a camera....You are brave and lucky enough. And this means people in there are friendly and kind to foreigner's.

I love this guy's commentaries. "Dusty skies. Rubbish everywhere" saying it nonchalantly 😂
  • @coop3814
Amazing how this man is able to connect with quite literally anyone

What Balds videos have taught me, is that when you approach people and situations with confidence and, most importantly an open heart, people are far better than our preconceptions let us believe.
  • One of the most interesting videos for a long time. And ive been watching for several years now. Thank you for the experience.

This man makes the best vlogs on YouTube. He has real guts to do what he does. It is his charrisma that endears him to the most diverse people in the World. Brilliant, this is REAL travelling.
  • The robust disposition of Bald is remarkable, no matter where you put him or where he goes - a smile, a handshake, and bit of charm he'll provide.
  • The fact you are so well versed in the history and the struggle of the people you introduce us to make these videos so enjoyable to watch. Nobody wants to watch an Instagram blonde go places and meet people when she totally ignorant to their life and struggles as much as they would want to watch you!

I want to tell you guys a story. I got so inspired by Bald to travel the way he does and took an impromptu trip to Nepal and Bhutan last July. I went without booking a return ticket and traveled by land from Nepal to Bhutan via India. I spoke with many many folks on the way (this was never my way to travel previously) and I have some 20 new friends now! I don't want to bore you with a long story, so I'll just mention the highlight of my trip. I met two guys - Nishchal and Bijay on a bus from Kathmandu and Pokhara. They are still very good friends and we keep pinging each other from time to time. I checked on them when there was an earthquake in Nepal, and they did the same when Chennai was flooded in December. I was in Pokhara for a week, and Nishchal would come every evening to my hotel to pick me up to show me new places or introduce me to more of his friends. Among the many people I met, I also learned about what they were doing in their lives, careers, etc., and connected unrelated people with each other based on their mutual interests. Bijay is an environmental engineer, and I introduced him to a guy whose mission is to keep the water bodies of Nepal safe (nobody pays him to do that, he samples the water quality and stuff on his own). I am reminded of that incident when Bald introduces Kolya to another lonely villager who lives nearby. I think I've unlocked some inner superpower by suppressing that awkwardness while meeting and talking to new people. Even Nishchal and Bijay told me that although they've made the journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara countless times, they've never spoken to a stranger before. Thank you Bald, here's to a long, healthy, peaceful, and prosperous life mate 🍻
  • the Taxi man was saying 'but you are my guest!.' He was a little embarrassed you were overpaying as he thought it was his duty to show you kindness
  • @waniaiftikhar635
I cant believe it. You started every convo with aur bhai. Instantly breaking barriers. Idk where you learnt it but it is a fantastic trick.
